Australia: New Minister to Improve Men's Behaviour as Gender Violence Grows | Firstpost America
The Australian state of Victoria has appointed a local member of Parliament Tim Richardson as the Parliamentary Secretary for Men's Behaviour Change. This is the first-ever such position to tackle violence against women. According to the Counting Dead Women initiative, 31 women have been killed throughout the country since the beginning of this year. In 2023, a total of 64 women were murdered, the group said. Richardson said his role will largely focus on how the internet and social media affect men's attitudes towards women. However, the government's move has not been welcomed by many Australians, who believe it will demonise women and feminise the culture. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese earlier this month said that the growing violence against women is a "national crisis" and men have to take responsibility.

This is the Victorian Government response to the Domestic violence that men are inflicting on women. Women being violent towards men does not seem to figure in their thinking, notwithstanding it is less frequent in statistics. They also do not seem to factor in the catastrophic state of the economy, the financial stress of living payday to payday, the impossibility of even getting into the housing market, the ruination of country through woke ideologies and crackpot polices pushed by indescribably stupid politicians. All of these stressors are without doubt a causative factor in the depression, substance abuse, domestic violence and self-harm that is going on. No, it's not needed, it's politics, pandering and sensationalism. DV homicide has been steadily falling, with some bumps here and there, since it started being recorded in 1989. I was party of a study group Certificate IV in the Community at Victoria University TAFE, Melbourne Australia we had to select and address a society issue so our mixed group decided to investigate domestic violence against men; the lecturer did everything in their power so shut it down, as did the co-ordinator. We politely declined and lodged an official complaint against the TAFE, in that they were attempting to gag us in addressing a real issue. They backed off.

Also, what I find interesting is that Ireland which can be brutal when it comes to 'bevahior'... instead of mitigating bar fights by changing legislation they merely made it so that glasses do not break so easily. Weird cultural and traditional ways of doing things but they get stuff done, most fights end in having a beer afterwards and yes from time to time women will join in on fights. They are tough as nails. Like I said, you need to experience this for yourself, bottom-line, if their govt even tries this nonsense, if will no work. Many of those countries are democratic, considered as underdeveloped, and I have seen African countries that is more developed than some so-called developed nations. Visit some of those democratic nations in Africa and get back to me when done... but much like Nordic countries, they value tradition over modernity even if some have tech and infrastructure op par with most '1st world nations'... you know it is sad, some of them look up to the USA not knowing the truth, it angers me. Hey, Aussie here, this is blatantly sexist. If it were the other way around talking the behaviour of women and aggression it would be and is ignored. This video states that intimate partner violence is a growing trend in Australia, however since 1970, statistics show a decrease of intimate partner violence and continues to so. Interestingly if you have done any research in the to area of victims of violence and the gender differences, you’ll see that men are much more likely to be victims in comparison to women. This doesn’t only apply to violent crimes either, as theft and other non-violent crimes are reported to have higher rates of male victims compared to women. I advise when you do research in future, make sure you read information that has a focus on the male perspectives of being victims of violence to level out the bias.
