hi! Thanks for checking in! It's been nearly two years now and we are still waiting on the temporary visa to come through, though I'm pretty sure we are very close to this happening - we've just submitted our FBI checks, which I believe is the last step!

So much to do! It's a good thing you keep good records, though. It is sad that it is so involved because of how many people have done the system wrong. But, since I know people who were tricked by their partner even after going through all of this, it is certainly understandable that they check so thoroughly. Good luck!

omg what! That is crazy. I understand why they need make the process so daunting, but I'm happy my part of the work is almost over hehe

Hi Amanda. I am an aussie and think you would make a great aussie too. I wish you all the best with the process. I have a couple of friend with partners from overseas and I remember them going through the process of getting a visa for their partner. I subcribed to your channel so looking forwards to hear more about how your application goes. All the best Barry.

Very helpful. Hey, what's the update of your visa application?
@AmandaRoundtheGlobe5 жыл бұрын
no updates, I submitted it in August last year, I was requested to do the medical exam late last year. Other than that, no news. It is normal to wait two years before knowing whether you are accepted or not. Cross your fingers for me :)

Oh my gosh this brings back memories. The paperwork was just insane. I think I weight my stack at the end and it was over 1kg 😆 But my goodness, I thought 3000$ was a lot for the visa when i applied in 2012. The cost just keeps going up. Good luck girl, seems like you have a good game plan 💕
@AmandaRoundtheGlobe6 жыл бұрын
Danica! I didn't know you went through this as well! Yeah, I have a few Aussie friends who brought their partners over a few years ago and it was $3000. Idk why they decided to essentially double the price, but it apparently hasn't stopped people from applying. The lawyer told me that the country only accepts 50,000 partner visas per year, which is why it takes so long. I'm finishing up the paperwork this week, I'm so excited to have my life back soon hahaha

Amanda Round the Globe yeah it's crazy that they introduced a quote. I mean what about people who are married with kids. They have to wait for ages too. Doesn't seem fair. Isn't not like this in most countries - though many do require you to be married. Pros and cons I guess.

Hey I got one question how do I become a Australian citizenship when I'm from Canada ? I really love goldcoast Australia so much I miss the people in Australia I really don't like Canada a lot because I'm Asian. Is there a visa I can stayed for 4 years before applying for citizenship?
@Eran_25256 жыл бұрын
Very good video! I wish you the best and i have no doubt you will get a visa grant! Luckily ive just recived my 820 approved so next stage will be the 801 :) I will recommend you to add also utility bills such as electricity or gas. And if you share a vehicle an insurance certificate. Also if you stayed with Airbnb or hotels you can use these as a proof. GL !

So we already have been 1 year together and after 12 month going be 2 year so I think going be nice to get visa partner and actually we going married in my country so we already married couple so are still in timperray visa??
@roachtoasties6 жыл бұрын
Good luck. A lot of stuff to do. A shorter list for the partner visa might have been what you don't have to do, like juggling six bowling pins while eating an ice cream cone. ;) I was going to visit Australia for a third time this month, but plans changed. Maybe next year.

Can you not get any other visa to stay in Aus or does it have to be a partner one?..
@AmandaRoundtheGlobe6 жыл бұрын
I've already completed a working holiday visa, which means I can't do another one, and I can't find a company to sponsor me to stay in the country. The only other way to stay with my partner would be to travel outside of the country or to apply for a partner visa. I'm currently on a tourist visa which lasts 3 months.
@epaMinondAURA6 жыл бұрын
Hi Amanda! Thank you for sharing all this complex process with us. I have a question: what if you guys were married for example in America? Would you still have to go through the all partner visa process? Because it seems to be less expensive to get married and then get a divorce instead of doing all this huge process to get a partner visa 😅 isn't it?
@AmandaRoundtheGlobe6 жыл бұрын
I've heard the process of getting a visa when you're married is actually much simpler, but I would still be applying for the same visa, which means the same costs would apply. We talked about marriage but didn't want to do it just to get a visa - we would want to be able to celebrate with our family and friends.
@DanicaChristin6 жыл бұрын
I've been in the same situation and from all that I know it's basically the same amount of work whether you are married or not. Price tag is the same too.
@alasdairbaird73035 жыл бұрын
While you are filling out your forms try not to get angry about the 60,000 illegals that are in Australia. They have overstayed visas or probably come here and never left. The point bring that the honest people are made to give them evidence of private correspondence to prove they are a couple whilst these ridiculous things are happening at the same time. It's hard to believe that the system can still be played when you are put through such a nightmare of form filling.

I think most first-world countries are pretty strict on letting people in, so I don't mind jumping through some hoops to be able to settle down with my partner. I'm from the US, and I know it's even harder to get in there, so I'm grateful to the country of Australia for giving me a chance :)
