Five years to cut emissions 50% to meet 1.5, nobody I know has attempted that. Australian soil is supposed to be a net emiiter of carbon after 2050 as the soil heats up overall. What is being achieved in WA that lowers overall emissions, gas projects are not decreasing and all Paris agreements are not going to be met. What is the purpose of the channel, aren't the subjects a little bit of shut the gate after the entire herd has bolted and took the dog and kids with them? Edit To meet 1.5

There is no CO2 climate change. Just look at Australia's climate history. Without cheap, reliable and abundant energy you will be going backward to the pre-contact stone age.
