His movement inside the ring is impeccable, and rising Australian boxing star Harry Garside (2-0) says his time doing ballet has supercharged his fighting style.
After mustering up the courage in 2019, the bronze winning Olympian took up the art form, which he believes has helped polish the boxing skills that will eventually see him become a world champion.
In particular, the 24-year-old Australian lightweight champion says the physicality and control of ballet has helped him develop significantly.
Skills he gets to show off again on Wednesday, May 11 when he defends his Australian lightweight title against Layton McFerran (5-1) in Newcastle.
“Ballet for me has definitely helped a lot. Any form of dance does,” Harry Garside told 7NEWS.com.au.
