Core inflation is at 3.2% Michelle won't be happy until it is under 3% and that means everyone will have to suffer a while longer.

Because the banks aren’t directly tied to the rba.. the rba doesn’t fund the banks, so there’s nothing to ‘pass’ on

Read the November RBA report instead of the December one lol. Their target it 2.5 and stablized within the 2-3% band. We aren't there yet, they expected it to fall between the band this year are expecting a rebound in inflation which they said was a reason why they were going to delay cutting rates early this year after the government concessions end. Tariffs will prevent it most likely, China, Mexico and Canada are all bracing for the impact. Canada and Mexico have already done retaliatory tariffs which will start increasing inflation. The reduction in the price of oil is a godsend but we are in a worse position then we should be.

Question. Considering all banks will be different with what percentage of the rate cuts they will pass onto customers, should I see a broker after cuts to get the best deal while they compare all the banks for me ?

Unlikely to see a cut until at least June or when the economy is a dumpster fire . 0.10 -0.25 cut also won’t change consumer sentiment profoundly following 13 rate rises although still very welcome 👍
