Gorgeous, all the work you put into it was so worth it. Glad you enjoyed our country. I lived in Port Fairy, and district, for all my life until 11 years ago when we moved to the limestone coast of South Australia. Was so nice to see both the places featured in your journal.

this is a great journal and has given me a lot of ideas. but you will have to come bck to see the best unique part of Australia, western Australia and Northern Territory. The part you saw could have been any cities, the other parts have some amazing gorges, oceans and beautiful scenery, so please come back and see the unique parts of Australia. Good luck with your journalling, I like your style.

I moved to Australia in 2011 with my parents and am so glad we did because it's really amazing here. Much better than the other places I've ever lived in.

I thought you did an outstanding job on your journal!!!! I loved the way you used the tape! and making the postcards flip back and forth. making pockets. Writing down personal things. I wished that you would have explained a little more about what you have in your treasure book as you go thru it, The ideas you used would be very helpful to other people making a book. I didn't see any Australian money or stamps, or coins. Not saying you didn't have any. But that would be cool. Thanks for Sharing. It is a really nice book. Thanks again!

LOVE IT! You did a great job. I'm not a big fan of cats the only cats I have a been around are very conceited and unloveable but your kitty was so cute! I love how he just sat there and actually looked like he was looking too. I love how he would put his paw out like "Wait I'm not finished looking at this" TOO CUTE. Sorry I know it was supposed to be about your journal but your kitty stole the show😊

Fabulous journal! Just the inspiration I need for a 10 day trip to Paris and Münich with my husband and young daughter this September. I'm going to have to watch your video several times and take copious notes as to layout (I think that the calendar and envelope at the front are a good idea) and also design (love your lettering) and what to write as ephemera on the fold outs (nice reference to Milos Raonic at the Australian open) As I've been watching, I've been inspired enough to go and buy an empty notebook and some stickers over at Amazon (I bought a Clairefontaine notebook [a French brand] as their paper tends to be more fountain pen friendly than Moleskine). One thought for you for future journals... if you find yourself getting bored with using washi tape at the edges of your fold outs, might I suggest using stamp hinges? They'll hold your inserts firmly in place and still allow them to be folded out without the tape ruining the look of the item. They (the hinges) are scrapbooking/archive friendly (they're commonly used by stamp collectors to display their stamps) and are also dirt cheap to buy and easy to find... your local Postes Canada Post outlet has them for $3.25(+HST) for 1000 (not sure if the locations in Mac's/7-11 has them but I'm pretty sure that the philatelic counter at a proper post office should carry them. www.canadapost.ca/shop/stamps/accessories/tools-and-reference/p-341970.jsf?execution=e1s1 Thanks again for a great video and happy belated Canada Day! I love this journal! It is so gorgeous! What did you use for your extended pages or flip out pages? Did you add cardstock to your book and keep folding them out? You did an outstanding job!
@kimmerbe11 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Suzanne! I used various weights of paper for the fold-outs - some cardstock, some mixed media paper, and some 90 lb watercolor paper.
@SuzanneLight11 жыл бұрын
And you just added those pages with washi tape?
@kimmerbe11 жыл бұрын
Suzanne Light yes, I did. I put washi tape on both sides. It seems to be holding up well!

@kimmerbe9 жыл бұрын
THE SUNNYSIDE Hi, and thanks for your question. I used all kinds of tapes. What is "tape typo"? It can't be the same as washi tape, as it wouldn't stick to a car! lol...

Wow, I love it. I'm traveling to the US next summer for 5-6 weeks, and plan on journalling while there. How much did you bring in terms of stationery?
@kimmerbe9 жыл бұрын
Susan Tinsley I brought a LOT of stuff! Pens, stickers, rub-ons, glue stick, scissors, etc...

Love this!!!! I traveled to AU in August for two weeks to stay with my boyfriend and his friends/family. I decided it was time to take a break in my life because I'm too young to be not enjoying my life due to the chaos and stress of everyday life, so I quit my job and I'm headed back in a little under six weeks to stay with the same folks for three months. I've been researching a lot on travel journals so I can document the adventures I'm sure to have. :) You mentioned that your pages were too thin for your liking, and I'm having the same issue with my notebook as well. You said you glued pages together to thicken them up - what did you use? Thanks in advance!

Wilson love to your travel journal and so did I! How did you to the flip pages? Did you bring along extra card stock that? Also are usually don’t have as good of luck with my washi staying stuck. Any suggestions?
@kimmerbe5 жыл бұрын
I brought along a ridiculous amount of supplies lol. The washi doesn't stick real well - you can add glue to it but that's a pain.
@NastyaKireeva10 жыл бұрын
I really wish I could make something like that myself, but it seems so complicated. And one question: Did you use maps as pages? I don't think Moleskines have that many pages (you ended up with quite a lot of them left).
@kimmerbe10 жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for your comment! It really wasn't complicated at all. I have thought about doing a tutorial video...may just do that! I did not use maps as pages - I glued them to the Moleskine pages. I guess, with all the tip-ins, it ends up looking like more pages than it is.
@NastyaKireeva10 жыл бұрын
Kim Beinschroth I would really love to see a tutorial from you! I'm visiting the USA for the first time this summer, so it would come in handy as I'm planning to make my first journal! And thank you for the answer!

Since you said the moleskine had really thin pages, what type of pens did you use so that it didnt bleed through the pages?
@kimmerbe9 жыл бұрын
SweetVanillaSpiceMe I just used whatever pen I had on hand, and didn't worry about the bleed-through. I did a lot of collaging, so sometimes I would cover it up that way.
