But Srikkanth, who had the measure of the bowling, fell to a magnificent catch by Taylor at mid-on. Thereafter, wickets fell at regular intervals, the last five going for only 15 runs.

All the indian batsman except Sachin and partially Azhar were useless and Indian batsmen were bunch of loosers., They played overseas odis just to loose and surrender.. Watching cricket from early 90s and found the most of the indian batsmen throws their wicket either by silly runouts or with silly shots.. Most of the indian batsman in those days played overseas ODIs just to pass time and no intention to win or fight and seen lot of easy matches getting surrendered 😅 In mid 90s they even started match fixing and corruption 😅 Things changed in late 90s with arrival of Dravid and Ganguly supporting Sachin.. And then under Ganguly in 2000 with Sehwag, Yuvraj etc we started winning overseas ODIs and giving close contest and was a turning point for indian cricket

I also surprised to see Sidhu as 12th man. He was one of the best batsman in 1987 WC for India. He deserved the one down position in this team. Banerjee was also not selected for this match.

Sachin was actually. Azhar scored 4 50s..93 Vs Aus, 56 vs Nzl, 63 Vs SA and 56 Vs WI.
