I wish that watching Dash Cam Owners Australia videos is a mandatory requirement for obtaining a Learner or P Licence. These crash compilations are good material for learning who is at fault and can help avoid making such mistakes especially when the person is a beginner. I meant that's at least what I can do to avoid being the person at fault by watching these videos refreshing my memories of the theories and rules (I can only do my bit, as for someone crash into my car, it is what it is). I have learnt a lot from watching these videos since I got my first car. I had the hazard perception test, I felt those theories and simulations are not enough for training me to be a decent driver.

It is surprising just how many people have crashes in back streets because of this.
@AzukiMacha3 жыл бұрын

Love how the first clip, the driver who hit the car in front is pissed about the truck that switched lanes when in reality, its his fault for speeding. If the white car had time to break, the car behind shouldnt be right on his/her ass.
@nickh50813 жыл бұрын
They weren't speeding, they were accelerating because the light turned green. It's definitely the pick up driver that's at fault, but the worst time for the person in front of you to slam on their brakes is when everyone is accelerating at a green light from a dead stop. Everyone tends to be very close because they were stopped a few moments earlier and no one is expecting a sudden stop. He's made because the stupid truck that cut off the person in front of him caused an accident that he will rightly, but unfortunately, be blamed for.
@nickh50813 жыл бұрын
@Bercilak de hautdesert If everyone followed your rules to the letter, 2 cars would get through every light that had an advanced left turn. One person would accelerate, the person behind would wait two seconds then begin to accelerate and immediately find that because they waited so long they're suddenly 5 seconds behind etc. - it would be a nightmare of traffic jams. You'd probably be laying on your horn if you were 3 cars back and everyone played that game! He WAS going too fast - looked like a guy that didn't notice the light changed and was racing to catch the guy in front and make sure he didn't miss the light when all this took place. He's at fault, but I understand why and what happened and know it would happen to many/most people in the same situation. No one leaves 2 seconds when accelerating through an advanced green situation except people that don't care about anyone else on the road.

@@sorntrash Look again. Grey car attempted to move into the lane on their right. Stopped to avoid a collision with car in front of Blue vehicle. Now stopped Grey car has not entered the lane so Blue car starts to drive forward - it is ‘their’ lane after all. Then Grey car moves into the path of the Blue car. As the Grey car is doing a lane change without giving way to vehicles already in that lane, driver Grey is 100% at fault. So many drivers, having done the wrong thing & causing traffic around them to stop to avoid a collision, then continue on as if everyone is giving them a free pass to continue being the arsehole. In this case, the only ‘crime’ of the blue car driver was to assume that having nearly caused a crash the Grey driver wouldn’t be so stupid as try it on again.
