Australian finger lime flowers

I am so exited to see my Australian finger lime tree flowering for the first time ever!
Hopefully this means fruit by the end of summer 🤗

Hi Louise, it was in the greenhouse until storm Eunice destroyed it. It’s taken temperatures down to -3c so quite hardy.

Had the same last year, and then the finger lime dropped all fruits and I ended up with no harvest at all. Lets hope this year it will fruit, I read that you should not fertilize between flowering and the fruits are 1cm long otherwise you will get fruit drop, hope this works. The finger lime seems to be the hardest citrus so far to get any fruits, you get tons of flowers though, but oh my this plant is picky regarding fruiting!

Last summer, the flowers drop but then produced more late in the season. The fruits were quite small. I hopeful that I’ll get a decent crop with it producing flower buds early in the season 🙏🏽

Hey Joe, word of caution: mine flowered twice so far. The tiny limes all fell off in the first few weeks. Still waiting for the third flowering that hopefully sticks!

Thank you for the word of caution, however I am very optimistic! I’ll do updates in the coming weeks ahead. Do you have any idea why yours dropped?

Hi @samihaahmed1857, very nice to hear you have a finger lime plant. I use fish mix by biobizz, it’s a very good plant feed. With the fish mix I give 5ml per 5ltrs of water.
