Sometime you have to diversify, apply for everything you are eligible and increase the point wherever possible. You may be eligible for 190 in your current state or in a different. DO a research about the options available to you. I would say Permanent residency is the easiest since 2017, so see what you can do to get it right.

Thanks for this video, it makes sense but it is still unclear whether they've invited or not for the first quarter of 2023 and it is making me anxious. I submitted in Jan 2023 and have been monitoring my emails and the skillselect invitation rounds but have not receive any news and that means they have not invited right? While waiting, I am working as a Surgical nurse and im almost 8 months into my job and waiting for 189 rounds. Im thinking of changing my anmac code to Surgical. It will not change my points( will still remain 65) but will it push back my submission date if I change it?

I strongly suggest you to not wait for 189 invitation round but lodge your 190 visa asap, since there could be a chance the 189 invitation round will not occur before the end of 2022-2023 FY. 190 and 189 are functionally the same, and I think you can stay in NSW (just stay in Sydney) for 2 years easily to meet the obligations.

I don’t think the federal government is serious enough about developing the regional areas. I wonder how they intend to lure migrants to these regional areas with the intention to develop these areas, when there aren’t enough facilities like housing, transport and even jobs to make their stay pleasant. It’s even difficult to comprehend, when u look at the visa processing times for the regional visas, like the subclass 491 and 190 which are 30months+. Hi Karl, we have been in Australia for almost 5 years and are currently waiting for a company labour agreement to be approved which we have been waiting for for over a year. We are currently on our last 482 visa which the company can sponsor us for as I am over 45 years of age. Could you please make a video on ENS 186 visa? Many are waiting for years and while waiting, employers take back their nomination due to change in the job situation. @@jitendermor3826 as long as your son is transitioned to the associated bridging visa A, he will have no obligation and can work however and wherever he likes. However, if his current substantive visa is not expired yet, he must still follow all the conditions applicable to that substantive visa.

In my opinion, I think the visa processing times for the regional visas should be shorter like the subclass 189 (3 months), to entice more migrants to the regional areas for the purposes of development. Come to think of it, how many skilled migrants offshore can wait for 30months for their visas to be processed for them to only come and live, work or study in a regional area or outback? I believe a lot of them would look at other countries with short visa processing times like the UK, Germany and Canada who are also desperately in need of skilled migrants/workers. The federal government really needs to review these processing times.

I'm one of those people who had multiple EOI in the system - I had 20 EOIs but I have removed them all after my invites last December. I have 8 Skilled Assessments from ACS and Engineers Australia - applied for every single state and visa subclass I'm eligible. The hard work was worth it, got 3 invites NSW 190 and 189s. Hi Karl I done a tourist visa for my wife it got denied she was married in Australia done many visas before all granted I went aat it took 10 months for my hearing at the hearing my wife visa was granted in about 3 mins 8 mins the hearing was over after hearing I was told it be a week at the most for immigration to do there part now over 3 weeks so I called them I talked to a bloke I had reference number but he didn't need I told him U want wife's name he didn't need just come back and said immigration hasn't recieved nothing about my hearing but with no reference number no name how do they no what case it was this what Australians have to put up with to just see your wife

How much pressure will DOHA take before admitting their insane processing system and correct it? Their senate enquiry response is already bad enough, talking incoherent nonsense to hide what’s truly happening, despite people already seeing the result for themselves. To be fair, the new minister has shown their good will to fix the broken immigration system and has hired a lot of case officers to tackle the backlog. But, for whatever reason, they don’t seem to care about public outcry as much as we’d hoped. Examples such as auto-refuse student visas, PYP madness and already broken promise of 3 months 189 processing times. Back in July 2022 we heard many of those promises, and waited. 9 months in. Clearly the reality is not what we have expected. Some improvements, but not enough. Heading into May, I wonder what they have in mind in terms of next FY’s budget and how they distribute immigration quota. I hope they completely remove partner visa from the quota and massively increase parent visa from current 8500 to 20000, even just for one FY. Amend the law to make 491 and 494 much easier to apply than it is now. Heavily modify GTE so there’s much lower chance to be used to discriminate people. Change the nonsensical processing priorities and better manage new and old case loads. Also, I am baffled at DOHA spending money to launch campaign for skillselect when there was 70k EOI sitting in the system waiting to be invited back on Nov 2022. Somehow those lower score onshore applicants deserve to be sent back home? Are they somehow unable to work and contribute to the economy? And what’s this nonsense of “insufficient number of candidates” thing? Back in 2020 and 2021, DOHA had no problem issuing invites with less than 500 in total, but somehow now not acceptable? I bet there are way more people lodging 189 EOI after the Dec invitation round, probably enough to issue another 35000 round if they choose to. It has been proven time and time again DOHA is out of touch of the reality, spending money on useless things (marketing campaign) while cutting budget on things that truly matters, such as providing quick fix to the current immigration system. I get it, they know more than we do, but do they really know more than what migrant community do? We might just have to reluctantly give DOHA this 2022-2023 FY as they move along. Time will tell.

Thanks Karl, Are there any news about truckies? I see that in few states, truck drivers are in top 20 occupations in demand. I saw it in labour market report for february this year. In Australia is high demand for them, but that occupation is still skill level 4 and not suitable for permanent migration. If there are any news, please update us. I already asked that question before, and will keep asking from time to time, here in the coments, i hope it is ok? I started that job recently, as i am finally on 485 visa. Thanks again for fighting for us, rising your voice and generally doing a great job!

I lodged my visa back in 2019 and last 9 march again they asked for polio which were submitted straight in an hour. I am afraid it will take another 3 months? We received 189 invitation on 8th December with my partner as primary applicant (accounting, 85 points). We filed the visa on 3rd Feb 2023. When do you think we will get our visa grant? I saw one recent update the person who got invitation in November 2022, received visa grant last week.

@Australian Immigration Law Services thank you. As per EA skills assessment there is no expiry so it is considered as 3 years. My skills assessment as Engineering Technologist expired in Jan 2021. Still my partner applied for EOI in June 2021 and claimed my skills points. On the calculator it still gave us 5 points eventhough my engineering skills assessment expired. We tried to check with my expired PTE score and it didn't give 5 points but then I entered my valid PTE score, it gave me those 5 points also. I didn't renew the skills assessment as we thought we will never get 189 invitation on 85points and I was studying Business analytics. So we were going to apply through that path. But then in December 2022, my partner got invitation on 85 points. But we had no time to renew my skills assessment as my passport was also expired. We filed for the visa in Feb 2023 with all documents along with my new passport but expired EA skills assessment although my partner had all her scores valid. Many agents told us that me being partner and secondary applicant there is no expiry date for skills assessment but some said there is expiry and we cannot file it. What do you think in this case? My partner is main applicant with all valid scores and I am secondary applicant with all valid scores but EA skills assessment as Engineering Technologist expired. Do you think the visa grant will be refused in this case? I got my EA skills renewed in March 2023 just to be on safer side but the visa was lodged already in Feb.

Impossible to say Abaho. You can still lodge 189 later if you are really lucky but I would not count on it
