My husband applied on 491 visa for me he is staying in Australia how much time to get a visa

I just can't understand why the Govt allows immig to take 9+ months to process a 190, 491 visa. Its ridiculous when in the past the average processing time is a lot faster. However that's not the pt. The pt. is the Govt is practically allowing a dept to significantly affects the overall productivity of the Australia. There must be ways to hasten the process to help the country overcome such shortages in times of need.

I have one question i got my rpl certificate at 28th of jan last year and this year of 28th its 1year so my eoi is giving me 5point for experince but unfortunatley like 5weeks i did less than 20hours. Nurses, engineers..where are rest of professions? Look around and see how many Australians study public policy or public administration or some other fields like law or IT? Almost none and still somehow these are not on priority despite obvious low domestic supply? US attracts talent regardless of field of profession because it want to increase productivity and innovation..thats why US immigration has been successful despite no specific permanent programmes except green card.. Australia should learn from it rather than targeting only few occupations.

How you all evaluate ones characters? In front of enforcers definitely even figutive ill behave individuals will put on their best hats after granted they belongs to illegal syndicates involved in criminal dealings like drug traffickings smuggling, investment fraud big brother bringing problems to your country so how u all evaluate them after?

Hi karl, Thank you for your information. Recently i have noticed My eoi has been removed after 2 years but my visa was yet to finalised which linked to the eoi. Does the EOI removed from the department website after 2 years include any eoi regardless of their lodged status. I have assumed it gets locked once a invitation has been received from the department. it also gets locked if a visa was loged. if you could clarify please.

- I applied for the 491 visa as a management consultant. While waiting for the 491 to be granted, I applied for the 190 visa as a cook. What happens if the 491 is granted first and I don’t withdraw the 190 application? Can my 190 application proceed? Thanks

After 9+ years in Australia, finally left Australia permanently few months ago. For most of the time was on student visa, and while on 485 first time after 7 years had the opportunity to work full time without paying school fees, etc... Australia is great place to live. Obviously too expensive for new migrants (just saying, i am not type of person who says only bad things because couldn't manage to stay there permanently). I personally didn't like how Australia dealt with its citizens during covid. What a shame! For everything else, it is a decent place to live (once again, too expensive). What i hate about Australia, is how hard for newcomers is to get a PR. For international students in particular. Int.students pay loads of money, and many times get nothing in return. Australia claims that education is the highest quality, better than some UK, US, CA universities. It is shame how it works. The only thing that matters is to pay college/uni fees. Assessments are often done by third parties. Students attendance isn't monitored appropriatelly. Students have to work to pay astronomical fees, study isn't a priority, and isn't difficult at all. Then, since Australia know what rubbish proffesional are made in those "educational institutions" they won't get them the opportunity to compete with domestic enginners, and other proffesionals. Look around, Pakistani PHD works as an uber driver. Indian master accountant works as a chief. Nepalese doctor works at 7/11 I do respect all people equally, don't want to be misunderstood, but what is the conclusion? Get sheeps from overseas, suck the money out of them, exploit them, then spit them out. Looking forward to make a you tube channel in near future, got so many things to share, specially with those who are planning to go down under. They deserve to know.. Once again, good place to live, nice weather, beaches, etc. But only for those with clear pathway to secure a PR. Few years is ok. But 5+ years is simply way too long. Also, good place for trade persons, coz Australia needs them. Strong economy, buildings are growing all over the place. A bit confusing writing, too many things to point out, and one comment is certainly not enough. Thats why a you tube channel is thing to do.

I have a question I'd really like to have your thoughts on: After 3 years of holding the 491 visa, I'll lodge the 191 and I'm told we get 191 bridging visa right away. Now, 191 processing time is 10 months currently, which may increase in the next 3 years. For applying citizenship, will I be eligible to count the period I remained on 191 bridging visa? Hi karl, Thank you for your valuable information regarding the visa & immigration. If you could explain why your visa processing time chart is different to Immi website. I have noticed in immgration website the standards visa processing time for 189 is 4 months (updated on 15 Jan 25 on immi website) whereas your chart showing 74 days only. Also if you comment on how the visa processing works or get sorted for finalisation by case officer. As I am waiting for my 189 grant since Dec 2022. Yes, you have heard it right. I have lodged my visa 22/12/2022 and -got once form 80 update request & i have uploaded (though i have provided it in the first place) - got twice form s56 request & i have uploaded - got bridging B in jan 24 for overseas travel. (travelled and came back aus) - updated AFD police clearence 3 times & overseas twice It is now frustrating for me to wait which imapcting me financially & mentally.

the bogus degree excuse was used to cap student visas and now we have the PM dining with the owner of some of those bogus institutions.

Is immigration like some sort of euphemism for “let’s turn the suburbs into Mumbai”. Dump them into low socio economic suburbs to gentrify them. Plus they will fill the stadiums during cricket games. Meanwhile second class citizens who have been here for decades in decades are being treated as third class citizens. Pathetic.

Hello Karl. I am quite worried because I am still waiting for my study visa but classes start on the 17th of February and orientation starts on the 10th of February. I had applied when study visas were being processed based on the previous Ministerial Direction but now with Ministerial Direction No. 111, I don't even know. I spent so much time preparing to study in Australia for my masters and now I'm anxiously waiting and running out of time.
