Thank you Karl for making this public! Sounds like the way the gvt is dealing with the backlog is nothing worth bragging. It's awfully discriminatory. :(

No logic whatsoever.GTE should not even be a requirement.There should only be 2 questions: Do you have money for your studies and is your English good enough.Most students want PR after their studies.Why force us to lie.What are those shortage occupation lists for and then refuse people.And who decides those refusals? A 4-year old??
@coolguy0331 Жыл бұрын
So true, why does GTE even exists that is so dumb, literally everyone who goes Australia is going there for PR who would want to pay 100k dollars for an education that doesn't even have the best quality
@destinationdiaries2444 Жыл бұрын
If you really want PR, then there are so many countries with a lower cost of living and less bureaucracy than Australia. For example Mexico PR and passport can visit 150+ countries. Things are cheaper there too. Same as Germany now. Just learn the language and unskil to join their workforce. Life doesn't end in Australia.

Now I know why, there are many of them who just refused to leave after their studies and staying illegally here. DOHA had to take action by requiring GTE. I think the profile of these people are listed in the the Auto Refusal as a filter. Once you fit into that profile you are out. Now whether its effective or fair is another debate. There are just too many who just jam packed the student visa applications. Those student who had genuine intentions are being denied an early approval.
@chalaka992 жыл бұрын
Hi Karl, thanks for bringing up this issue. Recently, UNE Armidale refused my sister's visa application based on GTE criteria despite she is having more than enough funds and qualifications. Their reasons were the current economic situation in Sri Lanka (which is completely out of her control) and having her sibling in Australia. Both reasons which she can't do anything to change. Further, there are enough Sri Lankan students getting their student visas even when they have siblings in Australia, which doesn't make sense at all. She submitted lots of supporting docs (54 docs in count), but they re-requested the same documents twice after the first submission when she had already submitted them once. Seems like the University agent did not bother to read any.

To be honest, being a masters degree holder in both Hong kong and Australia, my honest experience is that Aussie education is not that good as Aussie is promoting ( this is bit different when it comes to some courses in some universities like Melbourne University). But other than them, most of the universities that target the international students who seek the points for their PR doesn’t offer better quality degrees. Someone who actually seeks better, I mean top quality education, could do it from India for less than half the price they pay in Australia. So, if there’s no entry to the country, no point of doing the course. Aussie government is responsible for this. From one side they look for ways to score votes of the patriotic bogans. Other hand, they try to import foreign money by promoting Aussie PR to the rest of the world. That’s never gonna work.

Good way to put it. But it was a little bit incorrect. Australian governments less eager or afraid to deal with those education mafias, since they were controlling mass populations mainly australian students that shall be instigated by anti-immigration issues if Australian governments try to solve them. . In the long run, Australia shall share fate as UK today, riots, protests, food crisis, housing crisis and health services crisis due to tons of restrictions on legit working visa (3 years processing time haha).. the only one can help Australia just foreign student themselves by stop enrolling. The more foreign students come, the more difficult regulations for construction workers, farm workers and health care workers come to Australia. And the more food crisis, cheap housing crisis and healthcare crisis plague Australia. Because if Government make it easy nobody will pay 5 times tuition fees as international students. Get it ? Australia governments declare Agriculture visa while ago to bring more farm workers with very easy requirements, guess what ?? Members in parliamentary did not approve it.

I was to defer my studies because of slow visa processing and then in September I got s56 request to update my Coe. Which I uploaded as soon I got it from my university. My consultant said after a student gets s56 request from doha it means there is 90% of visa grant . I agree with the fact that DOHA is not professional at all with the time that their taking for visa decisions and auto-refusal letters. DOHA should make some changes to make the visa applications all fair. Student visa is a temporary visa that let international students study in Australia, not sure why DOHA has an unapproachable system. Definitely needs a lot of improvements!!!

Australian immigration system is so weird. So, you don’t want someone to come over because he may not go back due to the economic crisis in their country, so the person should stay back home and suffer? This is so discriminatory and elitist. And they should be realistic. Everyday in the news, they talk about shortage of labour, do they think people who are doing well in a good economy would be the ones to come over to Australia? What world are they living in? 😭. Of course it’s those from poor backgrounds that would bother coming over to fill the labour shortage. They still have a long way to go. This irritates me

Love these videos and how they properly highlight the shortcomings of the Immigration system. In my case, i have been let down MASSIVELY by the ACS, who have the monopoly on Recognition of prior learning approvals for some visas, and their total ineptitude has ended up costing me thousands of dollars, and delayed my Visa by YEARS. Karl, please look into doing a video/article on ACS :)
@Mirzaraza2 жыл бұрын
What was the issue can you describe
@TheCjsuth2 жыл бұрын
@@Mirzaraza I was wanting to apply for a 189 Visa, which needs Recognition of prior learning from ACS. ACS are the ONLY ones who can do this as they have the monopoly. I submitted all required documentation and my RPL was denied on some very petty technicalities, so i fixed those and resubmutted (had to pay again), only to have it denied again, for 2 reasons, 1 document they said didnt have a Date (which it 100% did) and another document was missing a signature (this document 100% had a signature). I complained, tried calling, ranted over email, all which fell on deaf ears, and all i got was a "tough luck buddy" attitude. So, i was forced to move to an application for a 186 visa, which forced me to wait until i had worked minimum 3 years in AU, and has a wait time of 28 months for visa approval thereafter. All the while i have to shell out $5000 per child (i have 2x) for school fees because im not a permanent resident. Had the ACS done their job, and actually READ the documents i submitted, I would have had PR by now and saved myself $20k in government school fees. So, in short the ACS cost me an additional 4 YEARS waiting for PR and at least $20k-$30k

Although it is an old video, just want to clarify does the case of Thapa changes this. If yes, then the same approach will apply to having partner points added within 60 days after invite as well as english and assessment are time of invitation criteria, so we can claim partner points after invite within 60 days if we can get positive assessment and english test results in those 60 days? Atleast until the decision of the judge is not overturned?

I hope Karl could spend a bit of time in the last one or two episodes of this year summarising various visa issues and progresses across all categories for 2022, as a recap. This is one ******** of a year ever since Labor party takes office.

To be honest, neither of those mentioned in the video are “famous” universities like University of Sydney, University of Melbourne etc, but maybe for their career, those ones suit them better because of the quality/budget/length etc. Needless to say, this may not be the prime time to study in Australia given this whole mess and Australia governments willingness to not quickly resolve immigration issues. Late 2023 and 2024 maybe?

Hi Karl, Sorry, my question is not related to this video. I am a Software Engineer and I have applied for 189 visa with 85 points last month. Now I'm planning to take career break as I need to take care of my 11 month old baby. Will it affect my PR visa process in anyway, will I get invite? Will they avoid persons who took career breaks at the time of invitation round?
@ManojKumar-mf5sv2 жыл бұрын
No. Your invitation will be based on the points that you claimed. If you still have those points that you claimed at the time of invitation then you are eligible to apply for pr
