As an Australian, I can tell you that many of us desperately want "I am Australian" to be our national anthem - and we have for a long time. Just like this crowd, when the song comes on, we all can't help but sing along. You can see the reverence we hold for the song when the crowd and coaches join in. It's beautiful, and wholly Australian 🇦🇺💕

I'm not Australian, nor have I ever heard that song. But this video really touched me. It isn't always about a perfect voice; sometimes storytelling takes over. This was excellent songwriting and storytelling. These lovely gentlemen were so sweet. They were more concerned about the future of other talent than stroking their own egos. I'm not from Australia, but I lived there for four years during my early twenties. This amazing country shaped me into who I am today and taught me to be independent and face the world head-on. I'm not Aussie, but, when I heard this song for the first time while watching this video, I thought it would make for such an awesome national anthem. I don't know the background on why "Waltzing Matilda" was chosen as the Australian national anthem, but in spite of the sentimental value and history, "I Am Australian" should be selected to replace it. It's a song that I think evokes pride in being Australian and is an incredibly unifying song. Good on ya mates! I hope it happens.

Not many people know that Australia was originally created as a pinal colony. The orginal inhabitants were sent there to die. This song really personafies the human spirit/soul & the Hearts of these amazing people. Their resilience, courage, fortitude & compassion for each other made them who they are today. Apparently not everyone knows yet that the original inhabitants of Australia were NOT sent there as prisoners of a penal colony and left to die. The land had been populated for at least 65,000 years, whereas the penal colony wasn't created until 1788...
