Me too. A coworker came to work insisting she was only coughing and showing symptoms because she had bronchitis. She then secretly told another staff member that she tested positive for Covid, telling her to keep it a secret. But the person she told was responsible, told us all, and told us all to get tested. Now the whole place is closed for a week at least as 5 of us have so far tested positive. Pisses me off she was selfish enough to keep coming to work and giving it to all of us. Before she even lied about having bronchitis, some staff were saying how mad they are at her for coughing basically in their faces without a mask and without so much as covering her mouth with her hand. I really hope she gets fired, at the very least. Legal action could be taken, I'm sure, but I'd be happy just knowing I wouldn't have to see her at work after our quarantine.

There's larger issues for adults when they get a contagious illness than just "Boohoo I feel sick". It's not a fear of dying from it... That's a very simple thought process as to why someone would be annoyed that someone gave them Covid. So I hope I made you consider that and you can learn from it.

The whole situation is absurd. I make my own decisions with regards to my personal health. I hope Novak gets to play and they stop with all this nonsense. Australia has a relatively high vaccination rate, so I don't think that's the biggest reason why our hospital system is struggling. The main problem is the sudden explosion in case numbers. Perhaps, fully vaccinated individuals have an overoptimistic perception that they virtually pose no threat to the community or themselves. This change in behaviour might be the reason why there are suddenly more cases. For example I live in Queensland, and before they open the border we had very few cases, now we have huge numbers daily. People who have very mild symptoms or no symptoms are more likely to go out into the community and spread the virus. This is what I perceive to be happening. Remember how we all wore masks, practiced social distancing and avoided mass gatherings while the delta variant (more severe variant) was of concern. The case numbers were much lower as a result. Yes, the delta variant is less contagious, but that is not the only difference, there is also a difference in the way people behaved. Hopefully, the situation will stabilize over time. It's hard to predict what lies ahead, but this omicron variant is mild in comparison to the previous variants. Stay safe!
