My sister is soon to be engaged to an Italian-Australian whos grandfather immigrated to the Hills region of Sydney, Australia. Those post WW2 immigrants came from Calabria from farming-agrian backgrounds and set up home in the isolated-fertile suburbs of north west Sydney to continue their knowledge of cultivation of the earth, notably, vegetables and flowers. God Bless the Italians from Down Under who continued their culture and legacy. Down to Earth, Catholic and hardest working people I have ever met. Much love from an Polish-Scottish 1st generation Australian.

@@AS4k-1 that's probably because Australians were at war with Italians during ww2 and couldn't tell the difference between the two, too their credit they were the most successful ethnic group to come to Australia after ww2 but it was the same for the Germans they got a hard time too as they had been killing our men in ww2

I wish my parents had never migrated to Australia from northern Italy. It was very hard for them in the fifties. Australia was a very different country. Of course I would never have been born but they would have had a richer and kinder life.

@@mamamiacempaka8002 I’m well aware of Australia’s history and countries/peoples that discovered it prior to British colonisation. The land of Australia was inhabited well prior to any external discovery. Australia belongs to the people that lived here for 80000 years, not a group of people that drew it on a map.
