@StumpkillerCP2 жыл бұрын
I use a .223 single shot for bunnies, foxes and coyoyes on the farm (used to raise sheep and still have chickens). I favor my .260 Rem (Savage M11 with a few upgrades) for 200 to 205lb whitetail, but it is grim death on coyotes as well. I REALLY like the .260 Rem and feel if Remington had done it right in introduction the 6.5 Creedmoor would have been irrelivant and redundant. Happily Savage gave it a relevant twist and throat/leade.

A very nice vid, love your hunting location. So what do you think of the .260 so far? I dont know what all the fuss is about when talking about the creed. It may look a little racier with the sharp shoulder but when it comes to performance, the .260 has the edge. Mate, start practicing on hitting them past 500m thats when the .260 really outshines those zippy little .22 cals. atb.
@AHPOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. Really enjoying the 260. I ended purchasing 2500 140grn eldm projies for a steal, to hard to say no to at roughly $53 per box. I'll be switch from the 143eldx to the 140 match eventually. I got the 260 cuz I didn't want to get any shit from people. 😂 Really enjoying your shooting videos too mate. Next time I'll be shooting out further. Just need to find a good line of sight to shoot from. Grass was 6 foot high is some areas. When Mark was on the log whistling foxes in the video, that grass was neck high as you can see. I'm really getting a hankering for a 22-250. Cheaper and faster than the 243.
@cyclo3604 жыл бұрын
@@AHPOutdoors ...you will love the 250. Hits like a sledge hammer, the .223 is a great little round but the 250 out shines it with good ol kinetic energy past 500. Sometimes after hit with the .223 at say 450, the bunnies can have enough energy to kick themselves down a hole but not with the 250, they kick once or twice then stay putt👍. Are you looking at another tikka? That would be my choice, sakos are excellent rifles but are becoming way overpriced and out of reach You should see the prices for spare parts...fuck me...300 bucks for a spare mag for the .223....fuck off lol. atb.
@AHPOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
@@cyclo360 I may rebarrel the 243 at some stage to 250. I am indecisive so I might not do it to lol. Just depends. Yeah, even the Tikkas are getting stupidly priced for what they are. They are a entry level/intermediate quality gun at ever increasing premium prices. Importers scalping shooters. Not surprising. I've been very surprised with the quality of the Bergara. Based on the Remington 700 footprint. The results I'm seeing from the 300wm are very promising.

Seeing Tikka in ur video caught my eyes cuz I own one in a 30-06 and love how accurate it was straight outta box with the brand new scope at 50 yards bullseye first shot and to this day I've killed every deer I've taken with it. I'd def buy another Tikka in another caliber cus of the accuracy- light of trigger pull it has and how smooth the bolt action is but I'd get nxt Tikka in a synthetic stock cuz I don't like putting any scratches or anything in stock and worry it'll rot or something under free floating barrel from being out in rain,snow and going in and outta cold weather to warm house. It's one of most accurate rifles I have other then my 17hmr accu trigger bolt action heavy bull barrel which is my most accurate rifle but for big caliber rifles my Tikka T3 is most accurate. My step dad and I switch taking guns at times since he loves my Tikka and at times I like taking his BROWN BAR SAFARI 300WSM but when I do I have to be extremely careful to not scratch or anything his very Beautiful stock cus he'll get mad if I do which same goes with my Tikka when he carries mine he's extremely careful since he knows I'd get mad if he put a scratch on gun also. But like I said I'd buy another Tikka in another caliber and switch it up to like the lite version or something. I just love free floating barrel it has and Boltalso trigger pull. And well everything u can think of bout them I just love.
