To the online army employed by Djokovic to “poison” every Federer and Nadal video comment section: Let me tell you what Federer brought to the game. Total, tridimensional, all-shots mixed offensive tennis, from the baseline and the net, as a definitive synthesis between serve-and-volley and baseline power tennis; hitting on the rise, with extreme angles to take time away and widen distances; an effortless, graceful, fluid technique and footwork; by very far, the most gracious, popular, charismatic persona on tour. And, with Nadal, the intense warrior, tennis as a truly global sport, where spectators, price money, sponsors and endorsements values increased exponentially over the last 20 years, his 19 consecutive ATP fans favorite awards are enough proof of that. While you have one single argument, numbers and statistics, that’s why you just stick to them and repeat them ad nauseam, but sport is not science, and numbers are not the same, otherwise, Nadal is better than Federer, or Sampras better than Borg, which is totally absurd. Greatness is a purely qualitative notion, and it is decided by the worldwide tennis fanbase, which made its choice very clearly and for decades. Try as hard as you can, you can’t force anyone to love the Serb, and to hate the Swiss and the Spaniard.

I know I did not just hear you say that. Look at Djokovic right now. For the past 5 or so years, the only competitions he's had is an aging Federer who was nearing 40, Nadal, and now Alcaraz may present a challenge or two. That's it. And you're calling Federer a weak era champ? No I dont think so. 2004-2007 Federer no one could ever beat, not even prime djokovic. Go take that nonsense somewhere else by that logic Djokovic has been playing in a weak era for years now.

@@travisbickle5279 You know what the truth is? The truth is that there is a difference between the "best" and the "greatest". While Djokovic may be the "best" tennis player because of his number of titles and grandslams, the winner for the title of the "greatest" player goes to 2004-2007 Federer. Over that 4 year stretch, he won practically everything including 11 grand slams, 3 atp finals, 42 atp titles. He had a 315-24 win loss ratio, a 92% win rate. The only two people who could challenge him then was Nadal and maybe Djokovic, but Nadal couldn't consistently stop Federer except maybe on clay courts, and Djokovic was just whatever. The majority Novak's wins over Federer was fairly close, even after Federer was past his prime. FOr example, 2012 wimbledon semi-final, Novak was in top shape here, quick on his feet, big serve, pretty much in his prime, yet he still got beat. 2019 Wimble Final, a near 40 year old Federer taking Djokovic to 5 sets. But the opposite isn't the same. Federer's wins against Novak, 15 of 23 were in straight sets. He is the only one out of the two to bagel each other in a set, and that was against Djokovic in his prime. Post 2013 Novak just relied on Fed's errors in rallies. But against prim fed, that won't work when you had to play agressive and play your peak to beat him. The fact that old fed made djokovic still need 4-5 sets to beat him is funny that he barely lost to Novak even then. Although Djokovic may go down as the "best" ever, the legacy of Federer will be forever secure. The Swiss Maestro was just something different when he dominated the game. Nothing could stop him. He's the face of tennis. The idol. When you ask someone who does or doesn't know about tennis, first person that comes to find: Federer.

@@iancho4022 absolut prime federer beat past prime 34 years old agassi in hard 5 sets by the us open 2004 and in 4 sets by the us open 2004, that you forget or what:)))). Djokovic won in his prime from 2011-16 = 65%( 77, 78% by grandslam) against a 29-34 years old FEDERER. QUESTION in which age were federer and djokovic better in the age bewteen 18-22 or 29-34? OF COURSE 29-34! Even when djokovic plays in his era against a harder verSion is the win precentege the almost the same and by grandslams much better for novak.
