People forget just how good prime Murray was... he was number 2 not number 4(which people seem to remember him as) He beat Djokovic on center court in a Wimbledon final which is something Federer didn't do... and he pushed Novak to the brink here in Australia... he was a beast I started watching tennis in 2010 where I became a Novak fan (I know sounds like a bandwagon fan who is trying to emphasize that I came in before 2011 but it's actually true) so I remember these days like it was yesterday because it was then where my love for the sport started...Murray was a huge player in those years and it felt like it was him and Djokovic trying to break into the vice grip like lock 🔒 that Fedal had(especially with fans and commentators) I'm kind of sad seeing how it panned out for Murray as talent wise he should be close to at least 10 Grand Slams

Agreed, he actually has one of the most complete Tennis CVs ever. He's reached the final of every Masters and Grand Slam event final (monte carlo masters the exception), often multiple times. He's been world number 1 (before any of the GOATs retired) , won 2 olympic golds and a silver (none of the big 3 match this) and he's won the Davis cup and ATP finals. Of the two grand slams he never won - FO and AO, he did take a set lead in the final in each of them, not to mention all the other AO final losses he had to Djokovic. He peaked in late 2016 and was set to dominate 2017 before getting injured and he was never the same since. His career during 2010-2016 during the peak 'Big Four' years he was often the main challenger to Djokovic and out performed Federer in that time period too. Even conservatively if he'd won say 2 more slams, which is very possible without his Injury, that'd put him level with the likes of Becker and make it less arguable that he's not in the Top 10 players of all time.

This is the problem. Difference between being runner up in a slam and winning it is HUGE. No one really remembers the runner ups. Had Murray won a couple more slams he would be praised more highly. I think if he hadn’t got that career ending hip injury in 2017 he would be sitting on maybe 5/6 slams now.

@@travisbickle5279 Federer peak was 2015. He was playing hell of a tennis. Unfortunately for him Djokovic was in goat mode. Non Fed and Djokovic were in their prime at age of 25. They both push each other and improved with years. Unfortunately for Fed Djokovic is to intelligent and it helps him make better decisions in his career and develop more than Fed and Rafa. He is a goat. His return, backhand, game from base line, court coverage, agility, motivation, making decisions under pressure, holding concentration and mental toughness are remarkable. Even if he is represented as immature clown in media his tennis and mindset should be roll model for younger generation of players. Fed is able to produce some incredible points but he also have few weaknesses. He is not so good under pressure, his backhand looks nice but it is not so efficient and generally he is not at Djokovic and Rafa level from base line. That’s why he plays more aggressive. Aggressive game looks nice because it brings many winners but also brings unforced errors. Djokovic is like a wall from base line. He is so solid and well positioned on court. Absolute goat of tennis on grass and hard court. Rafa his goat of clay because clay neutralize his weakness. Fed will go down in history as nr1, Djokovic will go down as goat. But mark my words Dominic Thiem will become new wr nr1 in 2022. He and Djokovic will have some big wars in slams in next 2-3 years just like they had in AO 2020. To beat Djokovic in gs Thiem will need to hold concentration for 4-5 hours without dropping his level. If his tennis level will drop just for 5min Djokovic is ready to punish him. It will be also interesting to see if Djokovic will stay so confident and mental tough after 1-2 looses against Thiem in Gs finals. Fed is mentally strong but Djokovic was able to turn him from mental rock to mental midget

I’m a Federer fan and I used to defend Federer and do these type of arguments. I’ve since come to realize I was wrong. I think Novak is an all around better tennis player. Roger has always had weaknesses and inconsistencies in his game, that nadal and djokovic exposed starting in 2008. The Excuse is not that Federer was too old. Look at what lebron James is doing. The reality is that they became better than Federer. And the proof is in the results since 2008. They consistently outperformed him for the next 12 years. Being 21 or 23 or 27 or 31 doesn’t matter. What matters is who’s better.

Murray was one of the best hardcourt players of his generation. Go and look at the head to head between him and Roger. He lead it for the majority of the time and it took a long time for Roger to catch up and overtake him. Murray was better than Roger on a hardcourt a lot of the time. Andy's a pounder, he chases a ball & hits from seats Row 2 & judders to a stop putting immense strain on his hips. Fedalovic don't chase like Andy, they slide & don't bother with unreturnables in the main reason unless it's a vital. Still Andy's not done too bad with Slam finals & semis against 3 of the best ever players. He will retire this Wimbledon. It's humilitating going out in 2 rounds at ATP Tour events & Slams also & for a great player battling with a hip replacement.

*Djokovic is much more gracious than Federer in terms of how he responds to the loses.* He always applauds nice opposites points congratulates and praises his opponent even in defeats during his interviews Federer doesn't have a bit of class, win or lose disdain for Djokovic is obvious. reason people call him classy is his looks, beautiful style of play. As a character he was often trashy.

@@mickaellandry9726 I said I'm Roger fan (I'm really) to avoid attacks from Roger fans as I rated Rafa above Roger in on-court attitude I basically enjoy watching all premier tennis players, but Roger at the top, next Nole, next Wawrinka, next Delpotro, next Rafa, and so on I keep getting disappointed with Nole's oncourt antics -- yelling at his box | staring at this box | cribbing when crowd boos | breaking racquets | the recent incident of linesperson hit on throat by ball thrown by Nole out of anger | ... Where is grace in such behaviors! I agree that he appreciates others' performances but these are professional players, and they don't really need appreciation. I agree it is good to appreciate. But more important is to avoid such antics. He is making himself less popular with such bizarre antics

And in how many matches have u seen him shouting at his box? And even if he does, it's no big deal. High level professional sports is demanding. Not everyone needs to act same. As for cribbing when crowd boos, no he doesn't crib. Bt it's disrespectful on part of crowd to act in this manner. Cheering on mistakes of a player is considered is not sportsmanship. Here is how attitude is: You are right. They are professional players. They don't need appreciation. What do they need? Financial security. Djokovic is the ONLY big player who is actually trying to help lower ranked players, financially by creating a system (PTPA). It doesn't help him at all. He does not have to. But he is trying to take on establishment. Talk about attitude when Federer or Nadal think about betterment of sport like Djokovic does. PS: you should see Federer' s attitude from 2011 onwards when he started losing GS regularly. Compare that to when he was winning all.

I appreciate :) Player violent displays : Since big3 are the highest quality in tennis, I would like to see them transcend the emotional aspects so to play at an even higher level... good for them... good for the tennis fans. So, the comments on racquet smashes, staring at box, responding to crowd boos, etc is coming from this positive and optimistic angle. Crowd boos : Crowd is a group. So, we can't say crowd is wrong. We can say to a person or 1 or 2 people, how can we tell a crowd how to behave. Will never work, except for when legal rules are broken PTPA : Going against establishment never works. Novak aim is super positive. I appreciate. He spending on his own is good. He organizing a tennis event during covid time with his money to support low ranked players is a super gesture. But these are short term measures. The one and only way to improve quality of players finances both in ATP and WTA is to be soft with the bosses, massage their egos, use 100% non-violent approach i.e. no physical violent and no mental violence. Slow and steady soft discussions will definitely yield some results. When the bosses realize that their egos aren't stamped upon, and that their positions are not under threat, and when the players either directly or indirectly doesn't try to grab the lime light in the process of helping and offer unconditionally the complete credit to the bosses, I am sure good results will come. No boss would like to have bad relation with a big3 caliber mega star when things are done softly and professionally and diplomatically and patiently. I have no clue at all what contribution the big4 have done in this aspect, but I definitely support Roger and Rafa ways of dealing with the ATP and do not support Novak's PTPA. I works only in movies. No boss would like to bend their knee and head to pressures from another org like PTPA and give away money. No boss will ever accept such explicit loss of pride and power. When such situations arise, the bosses across sports will unite, as it's their playing field. Whether they are corrupt or not is secondary until proven, primary point is that those guys must have done a lot of hard work to reach such positions and will not allow external sources to intimidate them directly or indirectly. This is my sincere opinion about PTPA

alcaraz maybe...rune or even sinner doesn't have the champion qualities Novak and Andy have. The big4 was undoubtedly among the most talented players of all time and they played in the same generation. In there early 20s they were all veterans at slams semis and finals playing 5 setters like a regular Tuesday.

Man people really overhype these terrible matches. 70 errors from novak and close to 90 for murray!!! Frankly that's embarassing no wonder fedal matches are classics compared to this shit. Even novak played like shit. There is nothing redeeamble about this match except maybe drama but even then we all know murray is and always will be a serial choker.

100% agree you have to start watching the match from the 5th set where you see both players both having a red hot crack at the same time instead of both walking around dejectedly most of the night showing horrible attitudes it’s not till the 5th set this match really comes alive and it becomes a classic
