equality in prize money. interesting theme. as far as I understood ATP and WTA is 100% pure legal capitalist businesses just like the Tournament Owners businesses. As far as I understood these businesses has a revenue stream from different sources. one is from the box office selling. Is there an existing statistics which shows how many tickets have been sold on a given tournament for men and women matches? Also, it would help this dispute to know actually how many viewers have these matches. In my opinion women tennis attracts lesser people. If we break it down, these players are entertainers. Why would be they paid equally? I think women tennis without the men counterpart wouldn´t be even televised. Like doubles in general. Without the singles would not be televised. BUT its just my feelings would be great to have those statistics.

Women shouldn't be penalised for that because it's not really their decision. The people who organise and broadcast these tournaments are the people who could make these changes, but they won't. Why not reorganise tournaments altogether? Men and women could play best of 3 sets up until the quarter finals and then best of 5 sets from then on, so we get to see the best players on both the ATP and WTA playing longer matches.
