德國朋友的簡單翻譯: She said hi everyone i would find it really cool if you all came to Taiwan because it’s so nice. But be careful it’s really hot and really humid here. And make sure to bring enough money so you can buy sweet stuff like candy or little souvenirs.
1) Jay, your questions are always so incisive, you’re a very good interviewer! 2) This interview was particularly helpful for me as I hope to be where she is in my Chinese language-learning journey in 1-1.5 years. I can’t wait to visit Taiwan, I hope to journey there (and the mainland and other SEA countries) often through the rest of my lifetime!
I must say she is super good, with language talent, very beautiful, with warm heart. I wish her all the best in everywhere she visits.

I’m doing a six week study program in Taiwan this year. I’m super nervous because I don’t know a whole lot of Chinese. Foreigners like her inspire me though. I want to work really hard so that I can talk like her.

Great interview. I've been watching this video many times to practice my English listening~XD
Her Chinese was impeccable to my ears. I always admire many Europeans for their multilingual ability. If it were an audio interview, I'd have thought she's American/Canadian speaking English or Chinese speaking Mandarin. I like Jay's interview questions, short and simple yet inquisitive and neutral, which puts his subjects at ease.

I‘m travelling to Taiwan next month. Going to see Taipei and Kaohsiung 🥳 So excited to go. I’m from Germany 😊 I’ve been to Cambodia, Vietnam and Korea and I’ve only experienced a lot of staring in Vietnam. I felt safe but it made me a bit insecure because I couldn’t tell if it was curiosity or if it was something about me 😅 I found it hard to read people‘s faces in general. I only have love for Vietnam of course and don’t mean any of it in a bad way 🙂

@@Trust_but_Verifyhaha that’s an idea! I am here now and it’s actually ok 😊
I spent 5 days in Kaohsiung. At first, the stares were unnerving. Then I realized that there are very few wàiguó rén there. I was a curiosity. Nothing more. Taipei had allot more international exposure. It felt normal as a westerner there.
@Dan-wc5hl Жыл бұрын
Because most foreign friends think of Taipei and seldom go to Kaohsiung and Tainan. They see you really just because you rarely see foreigners, there is no malice, and even want to know you, but they can't speak English. I think if you really want to know Taiwan, you should go to Tainan. After all, Tainan is the oldest city in Taiwan and a place with a long history of delicious food.
