FWIW Autel customer service rocks. I called about a used x-star I bought. Sat for a year. Went to use it and the batteries were dead. Autel is sending a new battery free. How great is that?

Hay Ken great commentary video on the Evo. I’ve not or will not fly as much as you but, the Evo is outstanding in it’s ability too capture the world. MP2 has a awesome fixed camera for stills, between the two I’m looking forward to many years of flying pleasure. Thanks for all that you taught me on these cameras. Autel Evo is the greatest value in the portable drone category of drones. It’s better than Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom, and with the additional batteries and nowncar charger for $999, you simply cannot beat what they are bringing to the table.

unrepeatable raddish just because “it folds” does not make it a ripoff. The gimbal is far more capable and Evo camera features 4K 60fps, something Mavic 1 does not have. Mavic 1 has ribbon fraying issues and don’t get me started with DJI support. There are bundles that include 3 batteries with the Evo. Mavic 1 does not hold a candle to what you get with the Evo. The support alone is worth the change IMO. I respect your opinion all the same.

I've had my Autel Evo for 12 months and I can only sing praise for how good this drone is. The build quality is excellent and the camera images and videos are outstanding for a 1/2:3 sensor, it is without doubt the best drone camera in the marketplace with this sensor. Love the wide FOV, 4K 60fps for silky smooth video imagery. The only thing DJI has over the Evo is adjustable aperture and more options in their appware, otherwise the Autel Evo is an outstanding camera drone.

I'm 60% DJI and 40% Autel Evo.... I love to fly the Evo, actually I fly it practically everyday.. I fly the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom everyday also but if I dont get 1 hour of Evo flight my day is not complete. In fact last night I went out at 11:30 PM with strobes blaring just to fly the Evo... I have to say it works perfectly everytime... I'm mean everytime.... one day if it does not fly for me, for what ever reason I will be totally surprise and lost.. but remember, I also love to fly the Mavic Pro Platinum... same scenario as the Evo. It works perfectly everytime also... in a nut shell.. on a scale from 1 to 10 with ten the most liked I rate them as this... Mavic 2 Zoom 9, Mavic Pro Platinum 8, Autel Evo 7, Spark 6, Mavic Air 5, Tello 3,

I have the Autel Evo and I love it. It is my first drone, I have not tried the DJI. I wanted to buy the Mavic 2 but watching videos and seeing the problems with those in the Geo areas. I decided to buy the Evo. So far I do not regret it.

I know I've probably mentioned this to you b4, but I've been flying an Mavic 2 Zoom and the Evo both for quite a while now. (Evo=6 mos, M2Z+10 mos). I use them both on whatever project I'm working on. They are both indispensable to me. Each has a certain characteristic that is different from the other which I've learned to exploit. I would definitely replace either one if lost or damaged. Kudos to you on the points made in this video!

Thanks for all your awesome videos! I just sold my M2P and purchased the Evo after watching some of your videos. I loved the mavic but I realized that for what I do the Evo would probably be just st as awesome of a drone. Also I pocketed $800 cash to fix my truck! That's Canadian $. Have my evo for a month just lost my phantom. 4 and yuneec h plus drone is very good plesent to handle and very comfy to have signal is amazing. And like I say don't read DJI comments they well know for their anti competitive coments and all resurch DJI is dirty with competition resurch it. New fan of your. God speed and good flights

You can easily get the maps to work with the CS. by side loading google services. Also, the 4 Hawks works best on EVO than any other drone I have had, maybe except for my tello, which will go 1k with the 4 Hawks I originally bought for my Mavic Air.

Wondering why you would side load Google maps? I called Autel and they said that whenever you create waypoints with a WiFi connection and if you have Google maps when you do, that all one has to do to cache the maps is zoom out at the level you want to see and your maps are automatically put into the cache buffer. Why then would you sideload Google services?

@@OriginaldoBo OK. Understood. But are the maps being cached into the CS or into the drone? Seems like a silly question, but does this have to be done every time you fly in the same area? In other words, I wonder if the cache is being put into some kind of RAM buffer or if it is being stored permanently on the controller screen, like the CS? If the latter, then I can see why you would have to do it, just like you would have to do it with any smartphone. If the former, then its being stored on the drone itself. I suppose this would be a great test for someone to perform and show us (hint hint) :) I am personally wondering if cached maps are reliable. I tend to fly in unknown areas without WiFi access and need reliable maps. The Autel people told me that whatever map app you use is what is cached. Is that true? If so, I wonder if I can use a mapping app that I use for backcountry use that is topographic. Personally, if I am flying in the backcountry, I would want a topo map because I want to see altitude changes to keep my drone from flying into a mountain. So, does the cache whatever mapping app you happen to have, or is it biased towards Google products? Don't know, but would love to know.

Ive used the Explorer app on CS ever since I have had my EVO and regardless of what Autel says, if you side load google services the maps and GPS functions in the Explorer app work the same as any android phone.

If you have wifi connection you do not have to cache the maps. If you don't want to use the hotspot on your phone or other wifi source, then you do have to cache them the same as with DJI GO 4.

Hi Ken. Where did you get the range extender. I've heard from other reviewers that the antennas are very fragile. Live in the North East and I am still looking to purchase the EVO1. To cold to purchase now and hope they are still available approx 2 to 3 moths from now as I have seen on Amazon (only 7 left...Only 5 left etc) I realize that all the drones have some pros and cons, but this one seems to fit my budget. I love the fact that it has no problem working with Android.. has no geo fencing and comes with 3 batteries in most of the combo packages. Thank you for your reviews, always watch them.

Evo is the best bang for the buck there is. It shoots great vid/stills without a bunch of post work. Off the card, it's 4K/60 looks better than the 4K/30 on my M2P. No autonomous features worth talking about. It's a great flying cam. :)

Just bought the Rugged Bundle recently and love the drone so far. I also found the screen to be too dim in daylight and even my Samsung phone is not as bright as I'd like so I cant really see what I'm shooting in detail until I download the footage. I take my best guess and hope it's close. One of the issues I have so far is that friggin gimbal cover that snaps off in a second but takes about six hours to get properly back in place! I despise that piece of poorly designed crap. The flight modes leave much to be desired and the Mavic leaves the Evo in the dust in this area. I tried cinematic shots manually and with just the right touch on the sticks was able to get decent footage with little jerkiness. The precision landing ability depends on your definition of precision. I have yet to have the drone land on my helipad by itself from any distance over a few yards out. I calibrated everything but it didn't change much so maybe it's gps drift. It usually misses the mark a good two feet or more so I have to hit pause then manually land it to avoid dirt and grass damage. I plan on doing lots of hyper-lapses in the coming months so I'll be giving the Evo, and my photography skills, a good workout.

Take screen brightness off auto. Manually set it to full brightness. Samsung 8s on up are all 1000 nits.

I think if I had to do it all over again I would not get one. It does have a great camera, and the no geo fencing is good. They don't have a plan for if you crash. I own it and I will keep it.

HI OriginaldoBo, I have had my Autel Evo ow for well over the year, I bought it from Carolina Dronz and to be fair it has served me very well so far, only gripe I have is that the Original Battery that came with the drone failed after only 5 months of use that was just under 30 charges, but as I say to be fair Autel replaced it, O yes I was charged for the replacement, I have 4 other batteries for this drone and have been regularly rotating them, but now I find three of the batteries with under 40 charges are now out of Balance, I use the AUTEL battery charger that came with the drone but I have to say it does not really do such a good job of Balancing the cells in the batteries, have you a solution to this apart from buying there there 4 battery charger, as I live in England UK its a little on the Pricy side what with shipping and all, as I am a retired Gentleman, I find it hard some times to make ends meet with just my pension, I really love my EVO and I have two other drones that I fly not as regular, the Phantom 4 Standard and the Breeze they get taken out now and again but nowhere as much as I take the EVO out , its my go to drone, but as I say with the battery issue I am now concerned, I hope to hear back from you, I love watching all your vides and your no crap reviews, MY Evo has no stress cracks and has had a couple of very minor hits of branches and my leg once but nothing is wrong with her still flying ery safely, OK Regards TJK UK.

thank god somebody to compete with DJI. DJI support is from hell, I've lost hundreds of dollars through their support and stupid warranties. You say, flight modes from DJI we've come to love... Let me add to that. And not use. The only flight mode I ever use is orbit.

I have a question. When the EVO is in the RTH mode flying against a 15+ mph wind mine crawls at around 6 to 7 mph. I have disabled collision avoidance or switch to ludicrous mode in order to get it to move before the battery runs out. I have had this happen twice since i have had the EVO. Is this normal?
