Correction to my previous question. I meant Crystal Sky monitor. Not the Cendence Controller
@garretbryl6254 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is the CrystalSky (both of them) and yes it will work with the Autel Evo2

You will just need to open the web browser on a CS, go to the Autel website download's page, download Android APK app on the CS.

This is really cool but I have a hard time really thinking about a scenario where you would need to do this... Maybe for surveying or doing a continuous long video of a coast line... Love the Cendence being used.

Great video Garrett, couple questions. Just confirming you do not have to start off at the same location as long as the controller is paired to the Evo 2 you can start the second controller up in different location and take the handoff of control of the drone? Also can you fly the Evo 2 Perform a handoff to a second controller and also view the whole operation on the live deck at the same time?

The answer to all of those question is yes... your understanding is correct

hello. what will happen if the 2 push the stick in same time? is there a "master TX" ? thank you.

Nice video, do you know if it is only with the Dual camera payload or we can do this operation with any Evo II?
@garretbryl6254 жыл бұрын
It's my understanding that it's any Evo2 but we have only tested the Dual

This was another great test. When the video is recording are both Crystal Sky monitors recording the video? This would be very helpful from the standpoint of redundancy.

Interesting... so did you pair the second controller as a secondary controller or primary and hope the stronger second primary signal would take over or did you just switch off the first controller when the second one was to take over... ? Cheers
@garretbryl6254 жыл бұрын
We had the primary with us in the car and the secondary flew the first leg. It really doesn't matter either way but that's what we did. One thing that's they did brilliantly is if the primary loses signal, then the secondary instantly switches to primary function

Is that a Cendence controller? Will it work this way with LiveDeck?

That's the Autel controller with a DJI CrystalSky display

That is absolutely Awesome!!! Jack has the same name as Me!! lol JK! Its is amazing that you can daisy chain the controllers on the Evo, I had no idea that could be done. I wonder what would happen if the 2nd controller was driven out of range of the Evo and as Jack was heading towards you guys would the 2nd controller stay bound to the Drone and just pick up once it establishes a connection? Also is there a default as to who has control? As if one controller has the throttle forward and the other has throttle backwards, does the main controller have control over the 2nd? Amazing video Guys!!! Thanks for sharing this with us!

Aee these two Autel Evo's 2 controllers..Could you use one Evo 1 controller and daisychain to an EVO2 controller. Are they both working at same time, and hand off is done by a vocal command to partner on phone. We also are working with the Live deck and the search patterns in the EVO 1 controller. Thank you. great video.
@garretbryl6254 жыл бұрын
These are both Evo2 controllers. I'm not sure if an Evo1 and Evo2 controller can work together. One is a master and the other is a slave but as the master loses connection, the slave becomes master. Pretty nice implementation by Autel

Thank you. their helps much.. We have an Autel EVO 1, We got it for the video capabilities, such as the live deck. Progress has been slow on the video issue. had to use a video capture card with the HDMI output o get the video into computer for Wirecast, have a professional webcast of the view. The Ethernet software was not written to make this one of the three outputs functional. Several have reviewed the Autel EVO) 1 and talked about the live desk. You are the first that I have seen put it to the test and publish about it. Other reviewers ignored our questions as I doubt they had used it. Please, i have a few more questions,as we want to purchase the Autel EVO 2 for video, but hope to to have a long learning curve and to have it work, the way it is advertised.. Can you buy the second controller with out a second Autel EVO, and where.? how does the software handle the passsoff from master to slave, or are they both working all the time. Th'is could allow it to be used by a trainer and student for pilot and co-pilot. Thanks you again for your great work, and unique testing of this potentially great technology.

I found the answer to my questions. Autel has a few videos on this subject that goes back awhile. The software actually has a primary and secondary setting for two controllers. It is made for pilot trainer and student.. So that implies they both work all the time of the flight. No handoff needed. We will be getting a second controller from B & H to test this as we are instructing in drones from micro-- through the Autel level. thank you for these videos .that stimulate expanding our knowledge base of drone flying.

this isn't exactly daisy chain. in my mind, daisy chain means connecting multiple controllers together so that the first connector can continue to control the drone even though the drone is beyond the maximum connection range of the first controller (or the second controller depending on how many controllers, etc). maybe I didn't understand the demo, is that what happened here? but in reality, a couple of drone operators far enough apart that they can't see the drone but still can both connect. any modern drone can do that. what would be cool is to send the drone on a "one-way" mission that takes it bvlos and far enough away that it would eventually be picked up (detected) and connected with the second operator who is on site (like maybe 10 miles away). keeping the drone connected with 2 controllers at the same time the entire time is cool but not very impressive even if each operator loses site of the drone. also you should try to tie in the live deck. could be useful in the truck or on site so the operation can be monitored remotely.

What if both users control fighting each other

Good question. The DownRange (DR) PIC has override capabilities. As long as he is providing stick inputs, the aircraft will only respond to him. Once the LZ PIC informs the DR PIC that he has LOS, then controls are relinquished.

i understand what is going on here, but not the hardware considerations. how is this done at a hardware level? BTW, thank you for your service and stay safe out there.
@garretbryl6254 жыл бұрын
At the hardware level, both controllers are communicating with the aircraft. All of the magic is on the software side. Thank you for your support !!!

Rick Great Job, as always, Everytime I watch your test. I fill better about purchasing my autel, I have a secret to tell you , I didn't research the history of autel, Being very naive, I thought that I was supporting, competition, and a American owned company, thinking that Autel drones were just being made in China, but owned by a American company, So that was one big factor why I purchased autel, Man I feel so stupid, Because Customers care was in Seattle Washington, I really thought Autel was a American company, So please keep doing the Great trials and experiments with the autel, And Sir my eye sight is getting worse and worse, I almost bought the lifthore tablet holder, but I don't, have a tablet or a crystal sky controller, Do you have any Ideal which tablet would have the best bit rate, I hope I'm saying that right, to try to purchase, that crystal sky is so expensive, if you have any suggestions, I would totally appreciate it, Thank you and all of the first Responders for there sacrifice and dedication, for are country. Sincerely Rick from Mo and God bless you and your family
