Autel MS906BT - Jeep Grand Cherokee OM642 DPF Regen

Reading codes with an Autel MS906BT, forcing a manual regeneration of the diesel particulate filter, and going through the ECM data afterwards. It looks like some of the leading mileage digits are cut off. I think the code was actually set 2000 km ago just before the regen was ran so this regen wasn't really necessary. CRD diy how to

I’ve always wonder if you could force a reg on gc crd. I know on the sprinter you can. Now is the a pre def jeep? Mine is an 08 pre def.

I live in Ontario as well. How often do you Regen? Do the codes need to be cleared to Regen?

Hi Steve. Another great Video, thank you. We did not have the DPF on the UK CRD. That is a really nice diagnostic tool you have there. It is £950 in UK so too rich for my blood. Does the OM642 inject Diesel on the exhaust stroke to raise the temperature for regeneration?

I am not sure how it works, the injectors are electronic so I guess they can fire whenever programmed to do so.

no, all of the code reading is built in. I did not realize it but Autel had some troubleshooting instructions for the codes available but they do require the subscription and internet to use. I haven't had a subscription since September and it works fine but I don't be getting code reading for 2023 vehicles unless I renew it

@@SteveRivett is very expensive to renew. I am having problems using the auto vin most of the time fails after the updates ended it has to be something to pressure the user to buy the updates....

How long does it take to run it on forced regen?

I think it was 10 to 15 minutes, you can probably see how long it took if you look at my radio time
