Autel Scanner Subscriptions Expiring Soon: What You Should DO Preparing for License Expiry

First of all, thank you for the backup information! My Autel 808S subscription expired just last February 14, 2024, and I did a full backup of the scan folder, plus I also updated to the latest firmware. Today, I turned on my scanner and received a message regarding a firmware update. I noticed a #1 in settings about a firmware update. I continued to use my scanner and ignored the firmware update. My question is, do I need a subscription in order to update the firmware? If I do not require a subscription, do I have to update the firmware even though my scanner works perfectly?

You're welcome. No subscription needed for firmware updates. Done a couple of them without a subscription. Keep that backup tight!

I agree these scanners are costly to renew especially if you own multiple brands. My Xtool D8 expires in 2025 and it costs $200 to renew. Have you checked Topdon Phoenix tablets?

Xtool is among the most considerate brands in terms of pricing plus their 3-year free updates. Haven't had the chance to use the Phoenix just yet.
