Hi Curtis, first I would like to thank you for the amazing content. I have a question about the J2534 I've seen you using it in most of your Videos however the J2534 Is not compatible with IM508 does that mean that I will have limitations with IM508 even if I have all the 608 accessories? XP400Pro, Programmer Adapter Kit, etc... The whole thing but the J2534? Thank you in Advance.

If you have a used pcm with same part number from an identically equipped vehicle and your old PCM still communicates with your scan tool, why would you purchase an OE sub and reprogram it via JVCI off a windows laptop, without first seeing if the IM 608 or MaxiSys offers programmable module installation and parameter reset for the vehicle? If the number of registered keys to the vehicle the replacement pcm came out of is below the maximum number of keys, then the programmable module installation I think should transfer the required information from the original PCm and overwrite the information on the replacement PCM without erasing keys and jumping through in and out codes and tripping on LSID.😉

Great question. The client came to me after he exhausted his options with the IM608 and said he was not able to do the procedure . I then logged into device to verify if we could do the procedure and after several attempts I could confirm the function we needed was not supported , Then I recommended using the OEM programing software in order to program the module and do the parameter reset etc.

Another great training as usual. Huge thanks... Its not better even no communication with pcm to clone by chip??? Or they are OTP chips inside PCM.. Can I ask You how much is costs IDS software and its for the single session or must buy it? ( I used to IDS Chinese.. to program and flash semi auto TCM module, but the higher TCM soft version was 'built in' into the soft... Comming back to the subject Pats system is different story, there is some few out/in code paid calculators online but it was long time ago and I can't preffer anything. I will be grateful and probably someone else for those info) Thank You.

I need to replace a couple of injectors on a 2013 Ford F350 6.7 Powerstroke. Can this be done with the IM608? Can I flash the ECM/PCM with new IQA data? Or at the very least can I insure that the current IQA data on the PCM is correct? Thanks.

Hi Curtis , have you tried the autokey prog. caclculator for this mazda cx-9 ? Mazda/Ford have 2 types of algorithms for outcode/incode before and after 07/2010 and autokeyprog. does only those until 2010. It will be odd if it managed to calculate the correct incode for this 2012 CX9

Hello yes in terms of key coding. As long as you have the xp400 Pro . You need to give the VIN to your supplier and ask if the the IM508 can do this procedure

Pcm replacement doesn't need to erase keys. Choosing PR is all that's needed.

@@1fnjo790 yeah, when I saw him do erase all keys, I scratched my head, that step is not needed since no keys are erased. PCM doesn’t hold keys. Even Cluster doesn’t need erase keys. Most I mean, some actually do. But PCM? Never, not in all my years being a mobile tech.

@@ThEmEsSiAh187-CFGeorge Watching the video again it appears that the guy Curtis was helping was a seasoned locksmith who already has a LSID and wanted to pay what it takes to get experience with OE programming with Curtis and make sure the supplied pcm was flashed to the latest calibration. If the customer brought me a brand new blank PCM I probably would sublet it to the dealer who sold the PCM versus dealing with obtaining an LSID entering my certs and out and in code BS. My guess is the guy bought an IM608 and for some reason it was Hit or Miss and the replace pcm function procedure didn't go right or the in code it generated didn't work and was up at 2a zoom calling Curtis in Zaire😉

Hello, If the vehicle doesnt start after the parameter reset, you may need to perform the Parameter Reset and the Ignition Key Code Erase. Another thing you have to consider is the gentlemen who asked me to assist him didn't know anything about programming, and was never taught to the proper framework on how and where to get OEM information to find what what you need to do after you program the module. I showed him the OEM Repair information to follow which explains the procedure we did in this video.

@@ThEmEsSiAh187-CFGeorge I just reminded myself, we did change PCM with friend on transit and all this online mess was required to erase/reset and add keys. Vehicle refuse to start... Similar story swap Bcm/frm/cem on many markes (no cloning options) is even more messy tham ford /Mazda easy.
