Good answer which I frequetly use is "Still alive, many thaks". It works very well, people are laughing and becoming more relaxed.

When English people ask ‘how are you? ’it’s more of a greeting rather than asking about your health or how you are feeling. The expected response is ‘fine and you? No-one really wants to hear about your problems or complaints.

Hi David, thanks for your input! This is a good point, but perhaps it depends on who you are speaking with. Ideally, the person you are speaking with wants to know your genuine answer, but if it more of a surface-level conversation then yes, the other speaker may just be asking "how are you?" as a formality.

It was the good specter for different occasion. Personally I keep consider this expression, "How are you?" as a question, not greeting. And it's a big temptation not answer "It's not your business". By the by, this is exact answer of judge Judy Shindler (the USA) whenever some naïve or over smart client dares to greet her like that. Sound excellent, according to my taste and way of thinking.

That's a good point! How you respond to the question "How are you?" is very indicative of your personal taste and personality. So if you want to respond with "It's not your business", go for it! We would just advise you not to say that in a formal/polite setting.

@@theworldtorinoI guess that’s true. People are free to be rude in response to a greeting that had no ill intentions. It doesn’t make them the good guy.

The music is so disturbing and background clips are distracting. They aren't really related to your explanation.

"i'm doing good" doesn't necessarily mean "i'm doing good deeds". that's just plain wrong info.

Hi Pola! Thanks for your comment. From a grammatic standpoint, "I'm doing good" literally means a person is doing a good (thing). Obviously from a conversational standpoint, it is fine to say "I'm doing good" in response to "How are you?"; it just isn't a technically correct statement when referring to the state of one's being. But once again, at the end of the day, how someone responds to this question is a personal and stylistic decision :)
