Thanks for sharing a great recipe. The fruits, liquor and sugar should be mixed and given at least 6 hours before adding the wine and the club soda, preferably left in the fridge over night. Brandy will dominate the taste. A good substitute is Cinzano bianco ( or 'white Martini' ) or melon liquor. Also, a combination of berries is a good option for the sangria. If you wish to maintain the standard fruits, an addition of a few small chunks of Cantaloupe melon is great. It is also customary to add a few mint leaves to the jug about a couple of hours before serving. All the best.
