I taught in China last year. Very similar visa/document verification process. I can't believe Kuwait wants transcripts certified if they're already asking for the diploma. I figure it's because of fraudulent Diplomas. Great information. I plan on teaching in Kuwait City this year at ABS.

stampsprint welcome to the family 😊 Yes there's something fraudulent going on. ABS ok I have a couple of friends that worked at that school. There's a FB group with hundreds of people called Brothers and Sisters of Kuwait. I'm not in the group but I am in the loop. They have meet and greets and lots of activities ( parties for holidays, cookouts, etc). It's pretty cool group the guy who organized it is an Omega from New York. Thanks for subscribing if you have questions please don't hesitate to ask. Hopefully we will cross paths this school year. TTYL Tequila

Hey, this is a question in regards to money transfer. What's the easiest method transferring dinar from Kuwait bank account to US bank? Is PayPal transfer available? Can you link a Kuwait Bank account card to an US PayPal account?

stampsprint That's a good question. I'm not sure about PayPal when it comes to linking or transferring your money from Kuwait. however, my husband -friends and I have found it to be quite easy when transferring money from our Kuwait account to our USA bank account. You may link the accounts and transfer online at any time or you may visit your nearest bank branch and they will assist you with your transfer in the banker. There's typically a charge when you transfer using a banker, 5 dinars. This is equivalent to about 17/18 us dollars.

That's great news. While I was living and working in China, I banked with the largest commercial bank there ICBC (school I worked for had a contract with them), there was limited information regarding bank transfers. There was so many hoops I had to jump through. Not only that, I couldn't withdrawal my money from ICBC bank in USD currency. Only citizens of the country were permitted.

stampsprint oooh wow, year I've heard a few stories about transferring money from China. It's totally different in Kuwait. We even use our Kuwait bank cards in other countries when we travel. You simply let the bank know where you will travel to and they will make your funds available for your trip. It's the same with the school setting you up with a bank here. We didn't choose our bank, although we did have a choice to do so. But I hear your salary would typically be delayed a day or two when you use a bank other than the one the school uses. We were good then with what they chose. Lol we don't want any delays over here. Lol 😆

Hi! Thanks for sharing this video. I'm also from Texas, and I was certified through an ACP like Texas Teachers. My undergrad degree was in Human Development, is Kuwait strict about needing your bachelors degree in English/SS? I taught SS for 7 years, but since I was alternatively certified I am struggling to find the type of jobs I want in the Middle East. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated!

Alexius Thomas depending on the school you apply to, their requirements could very. I now that's strange you would think requirements should be the same across the board. But they do things quite differently here. Try any bilingual school and you should have an easier time getting afoot in the door. Let me know if this helps. I started at Dasman Bilingual School. Pretty good school, a bit backwards with a few things but they are always looking to hire and will definitely be looking to pick someone such as yourself up for hire.🌺

Tequila Denise thank you for replying! Did you use any recruitment agencies or did you have more success applying directly to schools?

Alexius Thomas I did use an agency but knowing what ai know now, I didn't need one. I was just like yourself and needed guidance and so I see he's support from Teach Anywhere but honestly you can cut those people out and go directly to the source. Just tell them Tequila sent you 😘
