Human relationships matter. Thanks for sharing this. I deeply believe that leadership is about engaging with people and building a trusting and safe environment for people to learn and grow as people. My personal why is to help others and be of benefit to others. Doing that as a leader, every day, is what I love doing. Seeing my team become better people while also becoming better at their roles, exploring, and learning along the way is incredibly rewarding. I started my own channel because I wanted to reach out to others, outside my workplace as that is the only way I could sustain my WHY over a longer period. It would be something I could do, even when I would retire from the workforce. Helping others reminds us of how to be a better person as well, which is a win for everyone.

I’d like to see you spin this argument from the introvert and extrovert perspectives. Authenticity can’t be faked but extroverts are talented at doing just that. It’s the Venn diagram of passion for people and passion for the job that I think is most important. Interesting video

What you're saying about being authentic at work and in personal life is ideal. Does that ignore natural human deficiencies? I am not naturally outgoing, but I know that I have to be outgoing in my profession. I don't believe that makes me less authentic.
