My best friend's mother wrote a letter and it said that if anything happens to her it is her estranged husband who did it. She was shot and killed in the bathroom of her apartment. It was read in court and was the reason for his conviction. Thank God for that.

With an image of her son kicking the soccer ball over his father's grave, and his ghost cheering on from the clouds. She was trying to make sure her sons would side with her, that the ball would be in her court, and that everyone would assume her late husband was ''happy'' with that deal. But it looks like she finally dropped the ball, and the court threw the book at her. She just went from Soccer Mom, to Sucker Mom.

After the first, and certainly second poison try, he should have filed with police department a criminal complaint against her, based on the traceable drugs in his system and probable proximate cause, the food she had served him; had her arrested, jailed pending police forensic investigation. Certainly he should never again have accepted food or drink from her.

Maybe he thought he needed to stay to protect his children. Men can’t just take the kids with him even if they know it’s better that way. If he thought she was capable of killing him maybe he didn’t feel comfortable leaving their boys with her. Only thing I don’t understand is why he trusted her with his food and drink prep after he had already suspected her of poisoning him.

I've been in so many situations where I identified an evil person and I was accused of being evil. It doesn't surprise me at all that someone would stay with a spouse who had probably tried to kill him. I could totally imagine my family members telling me my eyes were lying and no way would this person be as evil as I say. There must be something wrong with me for believing that. It is sick, but it is common. If someone has concerns, listen to them and affirm them.

It doesn't look like a good marriage let alone a perfect one when your husband is telling his family and friends that you are having an affair and poisoning him. Then he gives his sister and business partner the life insurance rather than you. He could have gotten the children with his large influential family and their wealth. Looks like a bad marriage and they were arguing over buying a house too. But she did get their drug dealer to come over.

I think that spouses who change the beneficiaries of their life insurance should actually tell their spouse that they have done it so the spouse won’t have reason to kill them. If they hope things get better for them, they should say I will change it back once I am sure we worked on our differences and everything is fine. Or if the spouse get very made and acts strange or suspicious just leave immediately and start divorce proceedings.

A good defense attorney could argue those things, but they'd also have to argue that he developed sudden allergies to various foods she prepared for him and that he made a mistake when he changed his beneficiary. Neither of those things are likely.
