Excellent interview. Thank you so much for allowing the speaker to express herself freely, uninterrupted by sounds. This is very difficult for interviewers to remain silent while listening and engaged.

The intimate partner ALWAYS receives the brunt of the abuse. They let their mask down with the intimate partner. The intimate partner is the dumping ground for all their self loathing. Out in the rest of the world they maintain their mask and facade because it’s important to them to “appear” good.

Brilliant book from Debbie, a must read. I have read this book several times over and one of my favourites. I live with a covert narcissist. This really help me make sense in what he was doing to me. Trying to destabilize me in anyway that he could. Thank you. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚

I recently discovered thanks to videos like these that I was once employed by a covert narcissist whom I also considered my friend. It turned out she and the co-owner of the business were running a scam. After they were exposed by a well-known news show that featured scams and frauds, they both turned their rage and frustration onto me. I was in denial that this person whom I thought was so kind and conscientious could possibly be involved in anything like this so it was utterly shocking and traumatic to face the truth of who she was. She wrote me a scathing, explosive letter accusing me of horrible things (projection) after I quit. Twenty five years later, I looked her up to see what had become of her. Sure enough, she had created a whole new persona of social justice warrior in another state working for a local paper. She died of cancer recently and the praise being heaped upon her by her friends made me sick and angry. Eerily, her business partner had died a year earlier. This information is so helpful in healing from this kind of abuse and helping friends who are going through the same thing.

One thing about children getting to "choose" which parent they spend more time with; my kids "chose" to move in full time with their emotionally abusive coersive controlling dad when they were mid-late teens. It's yet another thing narcissists do; alienate you from your kids. He and his 4 siblings were also alienated from their mom. My ex was the eldest and he was only 8! This is another book. Thank you and I appreciate your books & videos so much!❤

Great video🌺👍 covert is like a green snake in the grass, extremely dangerous, they will act nice at the same time they will be doing something evil behind your back. They words don’t match their behavior, short fuse, play dumb, switch in seconds to extreme nice to others and cruelty at home. The anger you pick up from them is torture. Going through it now, no not dealing with a normal person, hard finding anyone who understands the wounds and trauma they create.

The one I encountered is devious in the extreme. I eventually saw through her and I still think back and put the little clues together. Underneath it all I see a coherent pattern and I have no doubt at all that she has NPD and is the covert kind. I had a dreadful experience. I want to know more about what it must feel like to be her. I assume she is badly hurting or she wouldn't need to control others so thoroughly. I dont believe others truly like them, even her flying monkeys are just unwittingly going along. They don't consciously know who she is, but perhaps they feel it on some level.
