Brigitte L Jones. You are very positive parents for coping constructively with your one real typical ASD child. Plus impressive in how you've brought forth Matthew to be so delightful who is turning out a marvellous intelligent person - where one can even wonder if that his touch of ASD impacts somewhat positively.

@@MrKaypet both of them are doing amazing. We can only try our best , Matthew totally understands HIS version on his autism and when it restricts him which is obviously less restrictive then George. A lot of Matthew’s difficulties are with sound , people and getting him to believe he can do anything. He’s a very smart kid

@@AutismTwinsUs Matthew needs to believe in himself and that he can do well in professional positions My son & his peers worked in a high level IT team (with high wages) having a member who has ASD. The team members knew to avoid a particular stressor and all would be good. My son has ADHD that he doesn't disclose and thanks us as parents for his confidence. We did not know he had ADHD until he was 18 - assuming he had only unclear hand dominance ...

Almost identical diet for twins M & V here, although V will eat any completely plain cheeseburger rather than just the branded supermarket ones, and any plain chocolate biscuits, and M has a slightly wider repertoire including home made macaroni cheese, and sometimes some fish & chips. The Plymouth Life Center Cafe cheeseburgers are twins safe food approved (see my comment to your previous video). Otherwise what you really need is a dedicated Ukrainian grandmother who has always spoon fed them home made vegetable soup, and still does aged 10. Camp fire cheeseburgers were a success last year (maybe cooking outdoors reduces anxiety around food?), and dutch oven pizza also cooked on a camp fire is on the menu for this summer, and maybe a few other experiments. Other than that finding new safe foods is a big challenge.

It seems a common theme among autistic children, I think a lot of it’s to do with textures and smell , just making a variety best we can

I know the palette changes as we do , I wasn’t the best eater especially as a child but everyday feels like Groundhog Day especially regarding food, we shall just keep offering new foods and hope they pick up on on some of them. Can’t do much more then that can we

It can be so hard can’t it sometimes, when Ben was younger he would eat everything. Now as he is getting older he is so fussy

Brigitte L Jones. Knowing the junk foods ASD kids well restrict themselves to you would (A) not buy these foods in the first place in early years (B) make sure that any items parents desired to eat of that type had any piece you'd let them sample was strongly tainted by a very hot spice or other concentrated aversive flavouring (C) do the same to popular treats and foods (repeatedly)you bring home that they could encounter in kids fun occasions away from home or heavily advertised products. (D) I'd only serve up ASD toddlers, kids the option of a pure non processed diet. Not even flavoured yoghurts or custards or flavoured milks.Eventually the young ASD kid does expand their diet from milk to at least a few healthy home cooked or raw items.Being hooked on home made mashed potato, bananas, or boiled chicken is a lot healthier. Parents all know these concepts in advance, but don't take control of very bad diets. Despite ASD making then more suseptible for serious healthy problems due to bad diets. That's so their kids are likely not to outlive their parents, as thats an unbearable worry! This is mostly done without much conscious awareness. Just don't bother explaining your ASD kids bad diet....it's OK.

@@MrKaypet we really do and have tried to get George to eat clean food but it’s extremely difficult to get him to eat, even as babies they had to have special milk once they come off breast milk! We have made mistakes giving in but on the advice of heath professionals they have said he has a much more varied diet then most of his peers with the same level of needs he has. We will keep trying new foods and good foods and he goes into periods of wanting multiple of one food item , ie apples and wanting 6 of them to not eating them for weeks then out of the blue it’s something else , it is challenging and not for the want of trying , thanks for watching and your comment

India eats only super noodles, hash browns and chicken, very rarely will there be anything she'll try. She's under the dietitian but they're not worried , but it's hard to not worry isn't it... She has vitamins and supplements each day but it's still a worry ❤

Yes kids are picky. My nephew when he was little only ate like 3 different things he has altusim (asphbergers) he now 17 his little sister is same only eats 3 different things also has altusim was non verbal until age 4 she now talks she 6 so if kids picky altusim or not that's fine I am 55 years old some things I won't eat I will starve death first. I was raised if I don't eat a food oh well. My mother never forced me to eat any food she said eat it or let it go. It's OK if kid don't eat certain foods feed them what they will eat
