Thank you very much for this. I tend to get stuck in focusing on what I’m doing in a day and letting that decide who I am. But I agree with what you said that we need to focus on who we’re being today and that might have the answers to why we’re feeling burnt out. I really needed to hear that. Thank you!!

I am so glad this was helpful for you and met you where you are today. Sometimes we all need reminding we are perfect just as we are and who we are being is far greater that what we are doing.

@@BeyondChronicBurnout Hi Carole! Thank you for asking! I think the hardest part for me is coming to terms with my new limits, and the fact that this isn't just about recovery, my whole lifestyle needs to be adjusted to a pace that I can cope with long-term. And that includes saying no to people I love and disappointing them. It feels lonely because not many people fully understand why I am suddenly saying no more often, and living differently, so I've got to be radically on my own side and be prepared to potentially be viewed as selfish. I am also afraid of how this is going to go when I re-enter the workforce. for me, earning money is inherently tied to overriding my boundaries for others. I'm curious to know if it's possible to fully honor our limits AND make a living. that was a long answer LOL. thank you for listening

I never know what to do in my breaks, because often I find that an activity I choose to allow me to relax is just depleting me further. An example would be watching TV, only to realize that the screen is overstimulating my eyes.

I struggled with this too in the beginning until I learned how to identify what I was experiencing in my body and began to better connect it with my sensory experiences and emotions. Do you journal by chance?
