"A lot of people that take these apart, they think they go in there, but they don't". That's me, I'm a lot of people. This makes me very happy to know I didn't break it, I just didn't put it back together properly. Guess I',m taking it back apart and fixing it correctly.

@@MrJustDIY Fixed both mowers correctly. Got them running great and they both sold today for a total of $195 on marketplace. These were both picked up on the curb during big trash day. Cleaned out both carbs by soaking them overnight in Coca Cola and blowing them out with compressed air. I invested a total of 2 liters worth of pop.

I needed to look at how the black plastic arm was connected to the metal thermostat arm, and you saved me from screwing it up. As it turned out, the arm was indeed the way it was supposed to be. I am working on a neighbor's mower and somebody ahead of me didn't put certain thing back correctly. I agree wholeheartedly about taking lots of pictures, which is easy with all the camera phones we now carry. Thanks again for your helpful video.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. My snapper has done the heat and not start problem since not long after it was purchased brand new. Now my wife will come out and pull the cord while I reach under there to pull the lever on the choke. What a pain! Maybe the choke thermostat on mine hasn't worked right from the start.

From the sounds of it I would say it is bad but can't be a 100% without seeing it.

Thanks for the Video, My neighbor has one and and it starts and turn off, starts and turn off, over and over again. That black choke arm was just flopping around as they pulled on the rope. Your comment to another poster about a spring was that this one needs. Spring is missing. Thanks again.

I have a Lawn mower with a Briggs automatic choke. I've replaced the coil and the automatic choke. I've adjusted the joke properly And it's not hanging up. I've rebuilt the carburetor and cleaned it. There is a Spring on the automatic joke . I have a clean new filter. I installed a new spark Plug. starts and runs beautiful But when I stop to dump the grass bag it won't start again. I understand this is common problem on briggs auto choke. The only fix I see recommended is to convert the motor to primer system. What do you think the problem is?

It goes to my left on the coil and attached to the choke arm. If you make the video full size of your computer screen you should be able to see it.
