Are "Buy Here, Pay Here" (BHPH) dealers obligated to comply with South Carolina repossession statutes?

If a dealership misrepresents a car and a consumer purchases it based on what the dealership told them, does a consumer have any protection? If so, what area of the law could assist with the consumer and how would one go about finding a lawyer?

I sold a vehicle a week ago, I’m threatened to be sued for issues with the vehicle that neither of us knew about. Am I okay, or does the suit have any merit? This vehicle was a private sell, it was test drove as well.
