Nice upgrade! Just to note, you should set it "Drive on right". I made the mistake of not setting to back to "Drive on left" when I came back to the UK from holiday and was getting frustrated why it was so slow to switch off for oncoming traffic!

Thx Peter as always a great video. I think I understand the feedback by remizovk. “Drive on right” means the street side - but not the steering wheel side. Did you try this?

Hey, yes, I got that mixed up here! Of course we have right-hand traffic 😄 I tried it the wrong way round today and funnily enough, the system also works with this setting without any problems. Best, Peter

My D4 does not have the "drive on right" and "drive on Left" option - I checked with the dealer as I was worried, as I drive several thousand miles in Europe every year. I was told that later D4s had a flat dipped beam so did not need swithching over (mine is one of the last, registered in September 2016).

That's interesting, thanks! 🤔 I didn't realise they changed the system (maybe the software too?) for these late models. I'll have to find out what exactly has been changed here 👍🏻

@@johnwillett4086 Hi John, the „Drive on…” setting is only for high beam assist - this is to configure the system correctly to switch off high beams when it detects oncoming traffic. As you mention, the actual dipped beam is flat, which is great, as you don’t need to mess around with sticking on converters when driving in Europe etc!

Great content Peter. I am trying to do the retrofit but cannot get the green auto symbol to show on the dash, even after updating the CCF using the GAP tool. Did you have auto or adaptive headlamps before the retrofit? Also, I saw that the CCF shall also be updated to rest of world? What do you think about that? Also if you take requests, fitting the memory function would be great 😀

Hi, Great video thanks. I have tried this and I have installed the mirror, but still waiting for the housing. I followed all the steps, and repeated but it doesn't seem to work. 2015 D4 HSE facelift. What does happen is the Auto light indicator lights up for a few seconds on startup when it is dark. then it goes away. Another thing that happens is that the dash AutoLight indicator comes on when I am in reverse. Im wondering if that happens for others as well? Anyone might have some tips or ideas for me? Hey, danke dir! Das mit der Standheizung am Discovery ist so eine Sache. Grundsätzlich ist ja jedes Fahrzeug damit ausgestattet, aber nicht in jedem ist es aktiv. Die Aktivierung sollte eigentlich recht problemlos über das IID Tool gehen. Teuer wird es mMn bei der Fernbedienung welche gerne mal 200-250€ kostet. Ich habe bzw. hatte in beiden Discoverys die Standheizung als Ausstattungsvariante dabei, jedoch wollte ich schon immer eine zweite Fernbedienung dafür haben 😉 Werde mal nachsehen, ob ich das irgendwie erklären kann wie es funktionieren könnte. Hi! I also had the auto high beam system on our 2012 Discovery 4 and it also had Xenons installed. So I think it should also work on your 2013 model! Greetings, Peter

Hello! Thank you for the video. I bought the mirror and installed it today. I haven't programmed it yet but I realized that the automatic darkening doesn't work. Do I have to activate it too? The previous mirror already brought it.

Hey, no, you don't have to activate it separately. Have you tried shining a torch directly onto the mirror at night? It should then darken automatically. During the day, this didn't work properly on mine either. All the best, Peter

I have already asked myself this question, but unfortunately I have not yet been able to answer it. As far as I understand it, there should be two different systems and this should also work. We had the automatic high beam on our Discovery Sport from 2016, but no AFS. So I assume that it should work.

For programming the buttons & your door opener you don't need the IID Tool. I think I have read that this is how it works (but unfortunately I cannot confirm this): You have to press the desired button (1-3) on the mirror and the opening function on the garage door key at the same time to programme it. If this does not work, you must set your garage door opener to the programming state and then try again. Best, Peter

Hi - great videos! Did you buy your mirror brand new or from a donor vehicle? I just performed the same upgrade with a used mirror (same part number) but apparently they are vin locked for privacy issues and it’s throwing error codes. I found a discounted brand new part but read the camera has to be calibrated once installed. Curious how you got it to work. Thank you.

Hi, thank you very much! Regarding your question about the interior mirror: I bought these mirrors second-hand and had no problem activating them using the GAP IID tool. Which tool did you use for the activation? I haven't yet heard that these mirrors should have a VIN lock, or did you mean the IID tool? Because this does have a VIN lock. I also couldn't confirm that the sensor needs to be calibrated, as it only recognises the brightness and this should be set at the factory. I hope everything works for you now! Best regards, Peter

@@notthatkindofachannel So just an update for anyone doing this on a pre-2014 car. I facelifted my 2011 HSE to the '14-16 headlights and this is the reason it did not work. There is an issue with high beam when upgrading to the facelifted LED DRL version - flashing your headlights does not work when the main beam is not on and I haven't seen anyone figure out how to fix that. Because of this, it throws a high beam error and the high beam assist does not work.

Hey, yes should work with Range Rover Sport interior mirrors from the 2009 - 2012 model range. I believe these have the same type of attachment to the windscreen.
