TV Umpire should be made to jump in even when a wrong no ball call is given on a Wicket taking delivery. Also I read an article of Ian Chappell that it's better to bring back the back foot no ball which was abandoned may be in the 1960s, apparently it is also less stressful on the Bowlers' front foot in terms of the impact upon landing.

Its a good move. But only for matches played under camera. Theres so many matches in the world which is played without camera. So umpire still have to keep up the skill of watching the front foot. Lovely video mate, keep going

As an umpire I can vouch for how hard it is to spot marginal no balls. Many quick bowlers land and may slide their front foot a few centimetres. Sometimes you can see the heel beyond the line but because you know that bowler often slides on landing you are reluctant to call no ball in case you missed the actual instant of the foot landing. Bear in mind your main focus is 22 yards away so it is hard to gauge this with you peripheral vision. I think this is an excellent move and years overdue. Unlike other 3rd umpire interventions it is not slowing down the passage of play as evidenced in the 1st test between England and Pakistan.

Totally agree with you. Bowlers like Ravindra Jadeja make the job really difficult.

This means that the batter won't be able to swing with freedom knowing he can't be out, where as previously an umpire paying attention will put their arm up before the batsman plays their shot

Just want to know that if a ball cuts the batsman's body from offside to leg side then it will consider as wide or not wide, please answer me
@TheCricketDigest4 жыл бұрын
All it matters is where the ball is when it passes the batsman. It doesn't matter where the ball has pitched. So, if the ball is behind the batsman's body on the leg side then it will be called a wide. You can watch the below video to understand the wide concept. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2TEaHiDbd6CipI

@@TheCricketDigest thanks.one more doubt - a ball pitched in the leg stump and the batsman left the ball thinking that the ball will be wide and didn't offer any shot. Then the ball hits the batsman's body and goes for some runs. So will it consider as runs or not
@TheCricketDigest4 жыл бұрын
@@bgcreationbabi9897 no runs will be given for this incident.
@bgcreationbabi98974 жыл бұрын
You please make a video about this law, so every one can understand. Explain it. Because there is a law if the batsman tries to save him from any injury like bouncer and don't offer any shot it considers as runs

Same as No ball, LBW should also be hand over to Tv Umpire for perfect cricket.
@TheCricketDigest4 жыл бұрын
Third umpire checking every LBW decision will consume a lot of time. We don't think that would be feasible!
@2207maddy4 жыл бұрын
I also thought its full proof but it's not. On ground umpire gives no ball with no time delay. Batsman in spite of hitting ball in air and danger of getting out can plan their run and strike .
