There’s an improved version of this for C64 called Rally Speedway which has much more fluid car turning. Worth a look if you like this at all.

I have very fond memories of this game and it was one of the first I ever played on my dad's boss Intellievision in Anchorage, Alaska in the early 80's. I think it is still quite fun and I'm glad I picked it up CIB a couple of years ago. Strange as I didn't know it had 2 different versions with different controls. lol Great review man!

My most hated game as a kid. The car was nearly impossible to turn going at any speed. I tried but couldn’t get it.

The buildings and the courses looked amazing to me back in 1980, and if the cars had a little more variety in their look I'd say this way beyond anything out at the time. The controls are an acquired taste, but I'm glad Motocross was more up my alley to keep racing alive on Intellivision. Great review!

I remember playing this at an electronics or computer store while my folks went shopping next door. It seemed good, so if I didn't get the controls in one sitting, I thought that was on me. Too bad they didn't make an M-Network version, though.

I'd call Rally Speedway on the Atari 8-bit as an improved version of this. They look almost identical, I suspect John Anderson was strongly influenced by the Intellivision version.

My friend had an Intellivision and had this game. We played it all the time and both of us got very good at it. I’m sure I would suck at it today.

I had an Atari and was a little desirous of the Intellivision and later ColecoVision, but seeing the games for the former, I think I came out alright, enjoying the games I got through 1983.

The Intellivision had some great graphics for its time, but the animations always look kind of janky to me compared to the VCS.

Why is everyone saying the game is frustrating? Learn the course so you can anticipate your next turn, USE YOUR BRAKE and tap the disk to avoid oversteering.

This game frustrated me to no end. I remember playing this at friends’ who had Intellivision and all it proved was how inept I was with the Intellivision controllers. I kept spinning the disc around assuming that was how you steered the car…

This was more of a drunk driving simulator as the car was almost impossible to keep on the road. My least favorite game on the Intellivision.

I bought an intellivision as an adult I just understand that each car have different settings, as a child I was loving blue color so always used the blue car, fastest and harder to control, try the white and the green at first and everything should be alright. Otherwise maybe you just suck at this game haha.
