auto shifting bicycle for nexus 3-speed hubs

Yes I know it similar to my 5 speed LandRider derailleur. I've considered getting rid of the pulleys and belt and replacing them with a gearbox. I've been putting your shifter on the motorized bicycle forums. I hope someone does a build using your shifter soon.

gears are not forgiving with small misalignment. gears are expensive and not necessary for this low power requirement. belts are only $1 and last a long time. This is a friction drive application, not a power drive.

Neat...but what is the point. I have an 8 speed Shimano Nexus equipped bike, an old Raleigh with a Sturmey Archer AW 3 speed, and a Puch with a Sachs Torpedo 3 speed hub. None of them are difficult to shift, especially at a stop light. This is a neat and ingenious gizmo, if your into that kind of thing. To me it just looks like it could be easily damaged not to mention the thin spaghetti belt that drives it will wear out and stretch, probably slip in the rain. The only plus side I can see is no cable.
