Hey guys. First of all, thank you so much for all the support, comments and questions. This is a crazy project and it’s very much an underdog story. I am extremely proud and excited to be a part of it! I see that there are some questions that keep coming up, so I figured I’d provide a little inside information :) First of all I need to stress that this was in no way an official record attempt or timed lap per se (the lap timer is a part of the ECU though, so it will always be running automatically). It is simply an onboard video from our second test in the dry at the Nordschleife, and my fifth ever full lap at speed with this car. The lap was completed on a private track day, in traffic, while trying to be somewhat considerate and safe. Comparing this with any official record attempt under the best conditions or a qualifying lap is not all that relevant, really. But feel free. The time is what it is ;) So why don’t we go faster witg all that power and why is the top speed so low? Well, the car is based on the Super Trofeo cup car. The reason being that the cup car is essentially a road car with a cage and a bodykit. The reason this platform is chosen over, let’s say a GT3, is that the base of the entire business is that you as a customer can transform your normal Huracan into an LP1200 without cutting it to pieces. Every mod can be reversed. The Super Trofeo does not have, nor will ever have, the mechanical grip or balance (ie cornering performance) of that of a GT3 car. Not even close. The reason being the limitations in terms of suspension geometry on the road car. It is all a compromise, unlike a proper, factory built race car. The top speed is limited by the Xtrac 6-speed gearbox that is Super Trofeo specific. A it is a one make series, the transmissions are all the same, and different ratios simply does not exist. We will eventually replace the transmission, but as we generally race this car on shorter tracks, it just does not make financial sense at the moment. We will however raise the rev limit for our next visit to the ring. As for negative comments on my driving or appearance, that is fine. It is not a perfect lap, and I probably see way more mistakes than you do anyway. And I know very well that I am a fat, bold, old man 😂 An old man thar gets to drive a sub 7 Lambo on merit, not wealth. Also, keep in mind that due to the logistics of running a car like this, we only manage to do 2-4 flying laps a day, and it is not the kind of car you just jump in and break records in. I’ve got hours in the simulator with a very accurate version of the car, and know for a fact I can go way faster in some areas. Yet, at these speeds and the risk that comes with it, anything but a sensible and somewhat careful approach would be nothing short of stupid. Our goal at this time is reliability, stability and balance. Not outright speed :) Oh, and btw we are currently not running full boost. With the crazy hot temperature this week, we were probably maxing out at ~900 or so. Thanks to Nick and Auto Addiction for the cool edit. Until next time!

Great lap Fredrik Sorlie! I'm glad we exchanged some comments on Bridge to Gantry post on Facebook. With the amount of downforce you claim to have on that car I would imagine you could do Schwedenkreuz flat out and Mutkurve on the uphill session before Klostertal a little faster but you seem to be just marginally faster than the GT2RS MR. I would love to see you make a lap time with the circuit just for yourself and running the full 1200 HP. The close gear ratio hurts you a little bit on Dottinger Hohe and you probably lose 5 or 6 seconds because of it. Keep up the great work and the great driving! ;)

If you think this is still slow compared to other records like the GT2RS MR did, keep in mind that the car was running about 900HP during this day instead of it's full power (because of the extreme heat that day) and this was done during a trackday with other cars on track (instead of a closed track during other record attempts).

@itsdokko29903 жыл бұрын
@@gokulkrishm51 so, gearbox whine, it's mostly related to sequential gearboxes, but also can be found in performance h-pattern trans. the reason behind the whine is how the gears are cut, we have helical gears, where the gear teeth are cutted at an angle, they're used in regular street cars, since they're quieter, but suffer from mechanical losses. and straight cut gears, the teeth are 100% straight (as the name implies), these are far efficient in terms of power transmission, but oblviously are noisier. the EXACT reason why they do this sound, i haven't pinpointed it yet

Edit: MY GOODNESS the way he hits the brakes so hard during the tire puncture... literally unreal. I'm late to the part but this video was fantastic!!! I really enjoyed the POV and found myself smiling all the way through the lap. It was over too soon it felt! Also, I love Lamborghini!!! So this was a double treat. Respect also to the driver. For understanding that people on the track aren't racers. And they won't see him and have time to react all the time. As well as, keeping control of the car when the blowout happened. Again, great video!!!

Never seen a turbo Huracan been driven at the circuit race track especially this hard!!! Usually I see turbo Lambos are either in drag strip or highways like Mexico. But to witness a high powered car like this on circuit tracks is something quite rare!!! Big respect to the driver who pushed this thing on its absolute limits!!! The only high powered vehicles (more than 1k HP) that I know that have been driven this hard at the green hell are Porsche 919 Evo and the Mercedes Benz AMG One. Damn!!! I'm really obsessed with track oriented vehicles!!!

This isn't a straight highway, he is on a track with something special to that driver and he probably just checked and there was no lambo then all of a sudden there is and their both going crazy fast with turns and trying to guess each other's move. I give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe don't go for the record when there is traffic. I understand it was detuned from 1200 but still 900 is much more than all those cars there that day

@@Arslanik-jp1nn The SVJ thought cheated more or less 😉.. Installed a cage, then removed seats "to compensate for the added weight"... That's like double cheat - adding rigidity and losing weight, while using the added rigidity as excuse.... You know there wasn't such half cage when the run was made and they later added it "as option" to make the run legit, it was available a year later. The GT2 RS though did the run as it's sold. So while the SVJ did a better time, it can be argued if that's a "stock" run with added half cage "because the GT2 RS has one (but welded in, stock)" and on top of that removed seat etc, to compensate the weight of the half cage....
