Eyesight is Subarus collision safety and prevention system. Works great. Sometimes it doesn’t turn on when the car was dead. Yes they all idle high when cold

Are the sensors related to eyesight installed in the windshield? My neighbor needed to pay $2500 to replace her windshield after a huge rock from a truck shattered it, I was thinking "Ouch" and "why" at the same time. Thank God she carries full collision.

I’d jump on that corvette. At the end of the day, it’s got some issues, but it runs. Whatever module is hanging under it must still be working or isn’t vital enough to cause concern in my opinion

I just sold a CX-5 with a 6MT and it definitely had a hitch and I’m almost sure I found the trailer wiring inside the hatch. I never towed with it but I do tow from time to time with my 2005 E320 CDI. Tows about 2K and still gets 29 MPG. Diesels rock! ✊🏾

That C6 could be a steal. Derek did a video a while ago putting a radiator pack into a wrecked C6. Easy enough with a lift😉 Also, the exhaust isn't a concern. You forget/overlook the fact that Copart are always shuffling the cars around with a forklift. Exhaust and valence damage is almost a given even on a 2021 car that drives perfectly... But yes, you should buy it😎

Eyesight uses cameras mounted at the top of the windshield to monitor adaptive cruise, collision detection, etc... will not work if the cameras can't see past the nose of the car. Even fog inside or outside the windshield will cause the system to disable itself until conditions clear up. (Source: my 2018 Subaru Impreza Sport Wagon)

The auto-stop-start is annoying until you get used to it. My Cherokee had it and my new Forester has it. It was explained to me that the starters have been beefed up to handle the extra starting. I did read that the gas saving is minimal on an individual basis, something like 1 gallon every 10,000 miles. However, in the cumulative, if every car had the feature, the gas saving is substantial over time.

FYI. Start/stop DOES NOT use the starter to re-start the car. To restart, the cylinder in its compression stroke would get a small squirt of fuel that, when burned, would spin the internals backward just enough to produce compression in the neighboring cylinder. That cylinder would then receive a normal supply of fuel, and its ­combustion would spin the crank in the proper direction.

Hiya Randy. If you get the chance on the Mazda, fire it up and wind the steering wheel from lock to lock and back to centre. If it's like others of that era, it should clear the ABS and stability control warning lights on the dash. If the battery goes flat at any time, these check lights stay on until someone does that little trick. Had it happen when I changed the battery in my wife's Mazda, so personal experience there! Hope that helps.

Subaru Eyesight is Subaru's front Collison avoidance and adaptive cruise control system, lane keep assist. it utilizes the two cameras placed in the windshield and acts much like a fighter jet target locking system. it continually analyzes objects in the path of travel. newer versions (potentially in this 2020 forester) has autonomous steering that can steer you away from a Collison

I would definitely bid on the Subaru, it would be perfect for Jessica with all the safety features and also the crash ratings are great on them. It's a lot newer and way more reliable than the Mazda.

Randy, that C4 is a a ZR-1. That is not a Lt-1. That's the Dual Overhead cam 5.7. Built by Lotus for GM. At least it appears that way, with that large intake manifold, and those valve covers, it could be one that got dressed up as a LT-9

The trans and body are definitely not ZR1. Manual only and the Zr1 is wider, which this car is neither.

Didn't the ZR-1 have the valet key full engine power and so on selector under the radio? Don't see one in that C4. The lack of a manual should have been a larger give away to me. Completely overlooked that.

No, that's an LT1. The ZR1 engine is distinctive, the upper plenum will have 8 runners per side, as well as 4cam 32 valve printed on it. The valve covers would be twice the width, and the entire upper end will be finished in aluminum, not black valve covers

I'm a little late to the party here, but that C4 Corvette is NOT a 40th Anniversary edition. And as you guys noticed, it has prior rear damage that was poorly repaired. The bumper/rear piece is not factory either--it's missing the recessed "CORVETTE" logo.

My 2021 Hyundai does t have auto start stop. But my 2018 Ford did. I researched the effect it would have on the starter and I guess the starters are designed differently, where a normal starter is good for say 3000 starts the new starters would be good for say 30,000
