That’s a really nice Audi! Being that it was well taken care of, you really need to fix the exhaust and clean it up. I don’t think you will loose money on it. Try looking for an aftermarket cat system that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. There are some cheaper ones that you can buy that have about half the expensive materials in them so they cost a lot less. They are totally legal they just don’t last as long as an original equipment one does. But you don’t need them to last that long on a higher mileage car that you are selling. You don’t have to worry that you might be ripping someone off, you aren’t. It’s up to the next owner to put good gas in the car and maintain the car properly and they will last them for a long time. I realize that you might already know this but I wanted to mention it so you can get as much out of the car as possible. Great find!

That mesh in the trunk, that one that you unrolled that you were thinking that it's a cargo mesh (not that one that is sitting on the trunk floor) is actually used to create some sort of barrier between the passenger compartiment ant the trunk, you suppose to hang it somewhere on the piller or the roof, I can't tell for sure. And that "sun shade" is for the trunk, you put it on the back of the seats(somewhere where the mesh is attached) and creates a diveder between the upper and lower trunk but be careful cuz it won't support much weight. Hope that I was hopeful

I watched it on ebay and clearly no one wanted it so when the price dropped I offered less and drove it home. mine is same colour except I have the green leather seats. I absolutely love it, I am keeping it for as long as I possibly can. BTW the cambelt should be changed for age not only for mileage. I did my own and all the control arms. It is surprisingly easy to work on, never let me down and is the most comfortable seat I ever sit in.. It is the fastest most capable car I have ever owned but driving it is just too nice to rush. And yes, the ac works great (but I live on a mountain so I never use it) and the heater is just awesome.

Call your Audi dealer and ask them what info they need to get you the radio code. In some cases they just need proof of ownership and the VIN. In other cases they may also need the serial number from the sticker on the radio. Some manufacturers don’t register the radio serial numbers to the VIN or the radio could have been changed at some point over the last 20 years.

I would say the way to deal with the missing cats is to find a high mileage car cheap and swap the entire exhaust (if the donor looks like it had been replaced.) That hopefully would get you a good headlight and maybe a fender too. Not sure I would worry too much about the paint unless the value after repairs would justify it. At 120k, the A6 has lots of life still in it, and the donor could be sent to scrap or sold at auction just to see what you could get for it.

you only have two chances to try the first time. after that, you have to leave the key in the ignition lock with radio on for an hour. after the SAFE display goes out after the hour, enter code. don't remove or turn key in ignition lock until after you have entered your code. if after you enter code and SAFE flashes, the code is not correct. i just went through this about two weeks ago. i finally pulled my radio out and saw that it was a replacemnt radio because the serial number was different than the one in my book. luckily the code was written on top of the radio. most times this will be the case. hope this helps. Similar to a honda, maybe a code on the radio or in the glove box to get the radio off safe mode
