@@AutoAutopsy I bought a 2010 A4 Quattro. It's fast, and pretty reliable so far. I like it.

Probably should mention that you should only do a oil change this way on cars where the manufacturer recommends you do it this way. On some engines you will not be able get “all of the oil out”, leaving a significant amount of oil. Yes I know draining the oil the traditional way doesn’t get the all of the oil out, but the small amount of oil left in that case is largely insignificant.

yes - definitely should only be used where recommended, good point!

@@AutoAutopsyI have an extractor too but still prefer to pull the plug from the pan although I'm not a fan of newer cars with plastic oil pans.

I got the same one but mine has an electric pump. I use it for my Mk7 GTI and oil changes are a BREEZE. Now atleast 1x a year I do get under the car and drain the oil the old fashioned way just to make sure there’s no particulates but never any issues….

Hell yeah. An electric one is probably super nice

This is my preference as well. Most of the crud is on the bottom of the pan and the oil filter.

Nice! I was all geared up to buy one but then I remembered that my car has a traditional bottom mounted oil filter, so I'd have to get under the car anyway and get a little messy. Might still be worth it to some degree.

definitely - although, like you said, seems kinda worthless if you've got a bottom mounted filter

Don't ever let your oil change exceed 5,000 miles regardless of recommendations. The filters are not designed to last that long in terms of performance and as you go through winters and summers the gasoline formulations change and the oil becomes contaminated with various chemical compounds. You can change the oil change intervals on VW/Audi vehicles using a good VCDS (VAG COM Diagnostic System) tool. Done it using a Ross Tech HEX-V2. It's the best one out there and well worth the money if you are capable of maintaining or working on your own vehicle and tired of being ripped off by dealerships and some independent shops.

Off topic but...Have you know anyone who has used an intercooler from a 9-3 2.8 in a 2.0? Would this be an upgrade (appears to be thicker)? I thought you would be the man to ask.

Do88 is definitely the way to go for intercoolers. I’ve got a video on the install if interested 🔥

Yes, I got the Do88 for my Turbo X, I was just wondering if the stock intercooler from the TX would be any type of upgrade. I currently have a Mishmoto IC on the 2.0T and it's great, but the bottom sheild doesn't fit without tearing it up. I just want it all to fit right.

If all the connections are air tight , it will start a vacuum and remove a significant amount of oil with only a few pumps during the process.

My oil drain plug on my SAAB Aero got stripped . . . I'll fix it later.🤨 In the meantime I bought this same extractor. You will need to get the 3.5 x 4.5 mm Slim Hose for the Oil Extractor Pump SKU: EB0277, because on the SAAB V6 the dipstick tube is narrow and the tubes that come with the extractor won't fit. I bought both items off Amazon. The extractor works like a charm. I parked my SAAB nose down so the oil pooled near the dipstick. I pumped the extractor 35 times and that was enough to quickly drain 2 liters. Repeat to get 4 liters. The last two I monitored and then repositioned the tube to suck out the last drops like a vacuum cleaner. I had about 5.4 L in the engine and that's what came out. Bottom mounted filter? With this there's less time under the car! Oil from the cartridge? I loosen the cap, then put a plastic bag around the housing and finish taking the cap off. All the oil goes in the bag. Clean the cap, put on new gasket and filter . . . done. This will also work on my daily driver Toyota and that car has a top mounted oil filter. Thanks for the review!
