I missed this video when it came out. I'm glad you did it. Very well thought out with good results. I am in a situation where I'm sanding down a car which had a lot of rust. After sanding I plan to use Phosphoric acid (Eastwood Fast Etch or OSPHO) to treat the metal and get rust protection. These products require a primer to seal them. So to do a skim coat I need to put it on primer. I feel better about this now. I'm more concerned about future rust problems,

I’ve always gone bare metal that way you can sand your scratches out of the paint without creating a low spot on the edge of the filler

Very useful 👍 It could be also interesting to do an heating test like , for examples, when the summer sun hit a black painted hood compared to a white one where the temperature differences are important. Not easy test to do probably..

You had to clamp down the panel in order to chip off the bondo for the bare metal. NEVER use bondo over paint. Icing is sometimes okay. Never body filler. Ever.
