Ever since the “drag race” held by Proton - X50 against the BMW X1 and Honda HR-V at Sepang Circuit, it left everyone asking… Can the X50 actually outrun a BMW (both with 1.5L 3-cylinder turbo engine)? I would like to suggest doing multiple tries for the drag race to make the results more accurate and perhaps add a rolling race for an extra dose of entertainment as well as realism.🔥🔥🔥

Saya dah miliki x70 cbu dan pada tahun ni bulan 6 hari tu dapat x50. Sejujurnya x50 terasa performancenya dan pick up lain macam. Serious mantap. Tapi abang dia x70, more to comfort drive. Dalam x70 much more senyap berbanding x50. But x50 menang in term of pick up... mantap teruk. Dua dua kereta best bagi saya...

@@jampiserapah x50 ni saya cakap jujur ea. Kalau Tuan sudah ada kemampuan. Fuel Consumption ni bukan lagi masalah pada diri tuan. Pakai X50 setakat isi minyak RM 70 tak terasa pun mahal. Tapi since Tuan jenis mementingkan Fuel Consumption, i will say go for Ativa. Yang tu fuel comsumption okay nak berbanding dengan X50. Kalau ada kemampuan, X50 tu bukan penghalang bagi Tuan untuk memilikinya.

Is is well expected HRV will lead, because of the 1.8L NA. X50 1.5L will have turbo lag at the beginning , once it is up to a certain speed turbo will work.

I would like to know if the X1 was set at Power or Comfort mode? Nothing was mentioned about default driving mode set for each car during the drag race or can I assumed it was at its fastest mode? If yes then kudos to the X50 for out accelerating the BMW X1 for the same engine displacement and being turbocharged.

I wouldn't surprise X50 win the drag race but I surprise the HRV doing well with only little bit slower than the turbocharged counterparts. Btw X50 on paper is 7.9 sec for the century sprint but in reality it was almost 2 sec slower.

Fyi I've even tested the Proton X50 in real life. Best time i could get to 100 is around 8.5 secs. But still far away from the claimed numbers :/

@@Has7DCT For turbocharged car usually having turbolag and some can be very bad. But it doesn't mean the car is slow coz once the turbo kick in it can run really fast. I watched many X50 video and many KZbinrs said X50 is powerful but it has slightly big turbolag issue. That's why standstill 0-100km/h may not be very satisfied result. But rolling start X50 will gain much better result.

Honda has a practice while they are revising the selling price they will take down the model from official website. Maybe this makes you thought they remove the hybrid variant since they remove from their line up earlier. But on 27/8 until now HRV hybrid is available on their official website.

Once again prove that sprint time by X50 is just a lie. At first, I was expecting many racers on the road. At the end, suprisingly all drive gently. May be lack of power is the cause. We may not able to get the figure but should not far behind. My car was tested few times, about 0.1sec slower than paper but I managed to achieve stated in paper if I really had a good start.

The HRV accelerated better because of the torque converter. The X1's & X50's engine initially has to throttle back a bit to reduce damage to the clutch before giving full power when the clutch fully engages

HRV got a headstart since it has a CVT tranny. CVT = instant and consistent torque. But, X50 won thanks to it being light and having a lot of power to it

Not all cvt is good bro example the proton cvt is sucks of the line but when it's on boost ya bye2 lah the Honda is only good on start cause the cvt is responsive so that's why it has a great start Toyota one is medium one lah but the Dcvt gearbox is much better then the normal one cause is more revvined

@@gungrave10 in European countries it helps because their hot day is around 25C Not here as our hot days are approx 40C on that runway if there is a heatwave. Your engine works much harder in these conditions and would really dull performance. Fuel would be at a hotter temp, as is the intake temperature. All contributing to worse performance.
