how do I modify the panel footprint lookup path from the default to a network drive for example. so that everyone in the company can share the same footprint lookup mdb file?

When setting up a new component; can one cause the wire type and color to happen automatically. Example: When connecting wires to the potentiometer, autocad would look at the component and know what the wire color and size would be, as a result when connecting to the component the wire attributes would set automatically.

AS far as I know, there is not a way to automate the wire type from the component. It is not a bad idea so I would suggest adding this to the Autodesk Ideas Page. Here is a link for this: forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-electrical-ideas/idb-p/37

I noticed n the file path for the image, yours populates with your "special" location. What field, in what file was used to lock that down to a directory other than the default?

If it’s a specific manufacturer and catalog number that always has this issue then I would suspect that you have duplicate entry’s in one of the two catalogs. Possibly someone started adding the entry and didn’t complete it correctly and then entered it a second time correctly, but it finds the uncompleted first entry with no description first. That would be my first guess based on what you describe.

I’m sorry for the delay in responding. The answer to your question is covered in the video at 20:13 thru 27:23. Templates must follow the naming convention shown in the video and they must be in a path defined in the project. The video will take you step by step thru that entire process.

When you install the software, AutomationDirect is one of the manufacturer’s that you can install.

@@robertojoa21 When you install you have to select the manufacturers that you want to include. You can use update/change in the programs and features to add additional manufactures after the install, but you can’t use the deault installation. You have to use the detailed installation.

@@robertojoa21 AutomationDirect terminal blocks are installed with the software. There is no guarantee that every model by the manufacturer is in the database so if it's just a particular model you can’t locate, then you need to add that one as a custom terminal block. If it is more than that then I would suggest you contact Hagerman Support and open a case where someone can take a look at your issue specifically. This is not something I can help you with via comments since it is not a normal issue.

Every year, Autodesk have an internal competition where the winner is the one who gets to make this program even more complicated and unintelligible. I just sat through a whole hour of somebody simply adding a symbol to a database. It shouldn't be this hard, it doesn't need to be.
