Been doing CAD a long time. STILL found things I didn't know in this. Great video. Thanks. Toggle Override Highlight. "Turns on or off the background highlighting for layer property overrides. By default, the background highlighting is turned off. Settings. Displays the Layer Settings dialog box, where you can set various display options." (per AutoDesk). Good luck with that. Ha! Have never used that either...I just go to the layer settings directly. Thanks again!

Very thorough, I'll be watching it again, you/re speaking very quickly. New to CAD, working with Land F/X a LA. My biggest struggle lately is the management of layers. Saving your video.

In your other videos I like the topic _Layer state in viewports _ xref layering _matching by layers instead of properties which is top notch. _UCS topic also was very well explain. _ xref attachment scale also was good _xref relative path over full path _ line weight overwrite/global width _layer groups _viewport freezing layers. _viewport object ,or polygonal _layer settings "xref payer settings" which is tricky. And good well explained Everything was very easy to understand. Looking forward for more tutorial especially on command that is unfamiliar for some cad user. 💯🤝

Ingroup Layer folder you can add layers inside or, you can add New Layer properties inside that makes it better. -NEW Group Filter -( PLAN ) -New Properties Filter -( Annotation ) -Layer name 0 -Layer name 1 -Layer name 2 -New Properties Filter -( MODEL ) -Layer name 0 -Layer name 1 -Layer name 2 and so on.. tried and works great. so like arranging layers in its category wither its ELECTRICAL,MECHANICAL,STRUCTURAL Layers Group.

@10:45 did you understand what yourself said? I got so confused when you talked about ctb and global width.
@CivilTechSource
@CivilTechSource 10 ай бұрын
It is easier to explain while showing rather than speaking, will try again in a different video. But basically CTB controls the printing settings meaning it can control how thick a line is based on the color it has, so if you have a global width of 0.5 and its color Yellow and the CTB settings says that any lines color Yellow will be printed in thickness 2 then it will be printed as 2.

@Joshepsanmigue and Civil Tech Source is it possible for you to create tutorial on this? I am trying to create a structure inside Autocad . THANKS. -NEW Group Filter -( PLAN ) -New Properties Filter -( Annotation ) -Layer name 0 -Layer name 1 -Layer name 2 -New Properties Filter -( MODEL ) -Layer name 0 -Layer name 1 -Layer name 2
@CivilTechSource
@CivilTechSource Ай бұрын
Hi Chloe, unfortunately the topic itself will not yield much ROI. However, if you want to organise your layers using group filters then I would make sure the layer naming is set up in such a way that will make filtering easy. Example You can have the layer naming be Plan-Ground-Annotation, Plan-Ground-Model, Plan-Ground-Dimensions and then in the group filter you can filter all layers that have Plan-Ground at the front by typing this Plan-Ground*

Yes, there are few ways. I personally use the -insert command and insert an empty drawing that has my layers set up. There are other ways to do it, one is using the Design centre.

Not sure about all the objects I one layer can be send to back. But I know you can type a command that would do this for you docs.autodesk.com/ACD/2011/ENU/filesACR/WS1a9193826455f5ffa23ce210c4a30acaf-4fa9.htm

Maybe you can post it in autodesk suggestions forum. Maybe we will see it in the future. The other way I can think of is lisp, so if you have always the same layers that need to go to the back then you can create a lisp to do this (isolate the layer you want select all, then send to back).
