AutoCAD vs. DraftSight - Capability and Cost

While we are trying to switch from AutoCAD to DraftSight. Found a few big problems with DraftSight. The update attributes is not tied into the REGEN command. The separate UPDATEBLOCKATRIBUTES command does not have a select all function. Why would a CAD user ever what to leave an attribute not updated? This is business critical to how title blocks function.

I think it's hard to give an unbiased comparison when you are selling one of the products.

You're not wrong! I have a lot more experience with DraftSight than AutoCAD, and I'm doing my best here to avoid misrepresenting either program, as it's important for our customers to understand the differences regardless of which program they ultimately choose. The last thing we want is a customer purchasing DraftSight when it won't work for them. Have you used both programs? What is your opinion on them?

Draftsight is the WORST. The price is about the only benefit. I hate the AutoCAD killed my old working perpetual license. The only reason Draftsight is seeing any traction is because AutoDesk went to expensive subscription only model.
