Thanks for the video. I have been using DraftSight for more than a year but mostly to edit existing drawings. I'm learning as I go. I am getting better now but your DraftSight videos are a big help. I have a question: When you brought up Alias Editing, I saw some commands with an underscore at the beginning. What does that mean?

Brandon , I’m new to CAD , and am using Draftsight /lazy cam, the latter to form the tool paths , but I’m not able to scale my drawings on draftsight , in other words when the are the measurements I want ; I can hardly see them on screen ! Street rod and hot rod car brackets is my thing , could you point me in the right direction ? Thanks, David

Hello Brandon ( from a somewhat neighbor) I now this video is a bit old but am process of buying a new CAD software. Does DraftSight have a customizable right button shortcut menu similar to Autocad where many commands can be added to the default shortcut menu. (prior to selecting an object) This is a deal breaker for me

Hey there! You should be able to customize the right click menu pretty similarly to AutoCAD. I can't remember the extents of customization off the top of my head but can look some more. I have found that pretty much everything we can do in basic AutoCAD is achievable in draftsight one way or another. Definitely worth trying the trial version to see how you like the general feel and customization. Hi Brandon, thank you for your video they are super helpful. I am a new user and do edits to exiting drawings. Some DWG open with the Layout in a white background and a small black square at the bottom left corner. I go to Options/ Display /Sheet Element Colors. Only the small black square changes, not the entire sheet (?)The Model open correctly. How do I rectify this as it is only on some DWG.Your input will be most appreciated. Thank you

Hi Brandon. I have been using the free trial, and today is my last day. I was planning on using it, but today I tried to do some ordinate dimensioning, but can't figure out how to move the ucs icon. I could move my part to 0,0,0 but I have multiple parts. Is there a way I can move the ucs icon, like AutoCAD

Not sure what ucs is but in draftsight, for ordinate dimensioning I ignore going to 0 0 0. Just initiate the command, z (for zero), enter. Then ordinate the rest of dimensions with r (reference), enter.
