@SalveMonesvol9 жыл бұрын
MannyFresh1x Because in europe they care about how much you pollute per KM, while in the usa they cara about Parts per million of the exhaust gases. So, if the exhaust gases of a car have a high percentage of contaminants, it can not run in the usa, even if the net amount of contaminants per km emitted is lower than any other car.

All this really proves is that driving style makes more of a difference than what car you drive. Hence why the smallest and (theoretically) most economical car came last and the most powerful car (BMW) almost won. A smaller engine is not necessarily more economical, particularly at higher speeds, as proven here. And the hybrids....well, they are just useless period.

@MaximC3 жыл бұрын
What does driving style had to do with the size of the cars/their engines? I agree on driving style, obviously. But the fact that BMW lasted for longer than other small cars - makes me think maybe they did a mistake when they were putting the fuel inside.
@soundseeker633 жыл бұрын
@@MaximC If thats a serious comment then you obviously don't know much about cars.
@aidan15852 жыл бұрын
@@MaximC No, driving style makes an enormous difference, flat out on the accelerator (like in the Smart) ruins fuel economy. That BMW 116d did well because it was more powerful meaning the driver didn't have to be flat out 95% of the time, no miscalculations. Also the BMW was fuel efficent from the start anyways.

Smart car wins, 'cause it only cost $10k to buy NEW! Wonder how much the BMW or the hybrid car cost new? Only 1 or 2 mpg difference way offsets by the difference in cost of the car! let's say if the BMW price $10k more than the Smart car , lot of gas can be bought from $10k! Exactly, 2500 gal of gas if 1 gal cost $4, like here in CA! 2500 gal at 55 mpg is 137,000 miles, all most the life of a car, as most people sell it at 100K miles,than car goes into the used market.

The ForTwo is Rear engine, rear drive. Also, on these cars, I kind of agree with you: They are not meant to be driven fast and LFB is a bit pointless. But just because a car is front driven doesn`t deem LFB useless. For example, on a FWD car with an LSD, left foot braking while accelerating just before and during a turn can make you a lot faster on said turn.
